Biography

PRO: The Titans selected Colton Dowell in the seventh round (228th overall) of the 2023 NFL Draft. The 6-foot-3-inch, 212-pound possesses a unique blend of size, speed, ball skills and explosiveness that creates opportunity to compete at the NFL level. The Lebanon, Tenn., native played six seasons at UT Martin (2017-22) where he saw action in 47 games with 34 starts, recording 177 receptions for 2,796 yards and 19 touchdowns.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:
•   Dowell was named first-team All-OVC and to The Bluebloods all-conference first team his senior year after tallying 67 receptions for 1,036 yards and six touchdowns.
•   Broke all-time receiving yards mark at UT Martin finishing his career with 2,796 yards while ranking third in school history with 19 touchdowns and 177 receptions.
•   Became just the fourth player in program history to eclipse 1,000 receiving yards in a season.

COLLEGE:
During six seasons at Tennessee-Martin, Dowell appeared in 47 games with 34 starts and recorded 177 receptions for 2,796 yards and 19 touchdowns. Named first-team All-OVC in 2020 and 2022 and second team All-OVC in 2019 and 2021. Registered 11 career 100-yard receiving games. He became UT-Martin's all-time leader in receiving yards.

AS A GRADUATE (2022), started all 11 games for the Skyhawks at wide receiver. Tallied 67 receptions for 1,036 yards and six touchdowns to lead the team to an OVC Championship. Became the fourth player in program history to eclipse 1,000 receiving yards in a season. Averaged 15.5 yards per reception and 94.7 all-purpose yards per game. Ranked amongst FCS leaders in receiving yards per game (ninth), receiving yards (13th), and receptions per game (19th). Ranked among OVC leaders in receptions (second), receiving yards (second), receiving yards per game (second) and touchdowns (fourth).
•   Against Western Illinois (9/1), had seven receptions for 100 yards and one touchdown.
•   At Missouri State (9/8), led the team with 10 receptions for 159 receiving yards with one touchdown.
•   At Murray State (10/8), posted a career-best 12 receptions for 172 yards.
•   At Tennessee (10/22), totaled seven receptions for 112 yards.
•   At Houston Christian (10/29), posted six receptions for 141 yards for his third consecutive 100-yard receiving game and fourth of the season.
•   Against Eastern Illinois (11/19), tallied four receptions for 118 yards and one touchdown. It was his fifth 100-yard receiving game of the season and 11th of his career. 

AS A SENIOR (2021), started six games for the Skyhawks before suffering a season-ending injury. Tallied 22 receptions for 398 yards and two touchdowns. Was named to All-OVC second team. Helped team to OVC Championship and second round berth in FCS NCAA Division 1 playoffs. Averaged 18.1 yards per catch to lead the OVC and 66.3 yards p;er game to rank third in the OVC.
•   Against Western Kentucky (9/2), hauled in a season-high 102 receiving yards with one touchdown on six receptions.
•   At No. 9 ranked Jacksonville State (9/25), tallied six receptions for 84 yards and one touchdown.

AS A JUNIOR (2020), started all seven games. Led the team with 40 receptions for 459 yards and four touchdowns. Ranked among OVC leaders in receptions (first), receiving yards (second), touchdowns (second), receptions per game (5.7, second) and receiving yards per game (65.6, third). Ranked 21st nationally in both receiving touchdowns and receiving yards. Named to All-OVC first team and OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll.
•   Against Jacksonville State (3/14), tallied five receptions for 59 yards and one touchdown.
•   Against Southeast Missouri (4/3), recorded seven receptions for 59 yards for two touchdowns, his second multi-touchdown game.
•   Against Tennessee Tech (4/11), totaled six receptions for 105 yards.

AS A SOPHOMORE (2019), played in 12 games with 10 starts between wide receiver and tight end. Recorded 38 receptions for 765 yards and four touchdowns. Average 20.1 yards per catch and 64.0 all-purpose yards per game. Tabbed to HERO Sports Sophomore All-American honorable mention squad, All-OVC second team and Phil Steele All-OVC first team.
•   Against Northwestern State (8/29), had one reception for a 39-yard touchdown in the opening game of the season.
•   At Tennessee Tech (10/12), recorded five receptions for then career-best 154 yards and two touchdowns. It was the first multi-touchdown and first 100-yard receiving game of his career
•   At Southeast Missouri (10/26), totaled three receptions for 104 yards.
•   Against Jacksonville State (11/2), recorded five receptions for 117 yards and one touchdown.
•   At Austin Peay (11/9), had six receptions for 111 yards, his third consecutive 100-yard receiving game.

AS A REDSHIRT FRESHMAN (2018), played in 11 games and compiled 10 receptions for 138 yards and three touchdowns.

AS A FRESHMAN (2017), redshirted and did not see any game action.
•   Graduated from Tennessee-Martin with a degree in exercise science in December of 2021.

PERSONAL:
•   Attended Wilson Central High School (Tenn.) and played for coach Brad Dedman. Guided the Wildcats to a 8-3 record with a playoff berth in 2016.
•   Tallied 44 receptions for 799 yards and five touchdowns. Averaged 18.2 yards per catch and notched three 100-yard receiving games.
•   Named to the Region 6-3A all-region squad.
•   Played in the 2016 Toyota East vs. West All-Star Game.
•   Son of Chris and Tracy Dowell. Has one older brother named Coleby.
