Jacob Martin

PRO: The Titans signed Jacob Martin early in the 2026 free agency period to add a proven pass rusher to the defensive end position. The 6-foot-2-inch, 260-pounder was originally selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the fourth round of the 2018 NFL Draft and spent his rookie NFL campaign with the club. He was traded to the Houston Texans in 2019 and spent the next three seasons with the organization. The Temple product has also spent time with the Indianapolis Colts, Chicago Bears and Washington Commanders. Prior to his arrival with the Titans, Martin appeared in 119 games and amassed 134 tackles, 26.5 sacks, 181 quarterback pressures, six passes defensed, eight forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:
• In 2025, Martin collected career-highs with 39 tackles, 5.5 sacks and 44 quarterback pressures in his lone season with the Commanders.
• In 2021, Martin played in all 17 games with 14 starts for the Texans and tallied 23 tackles, four sacks, 37 quarterback pressures, five tackles for loss and three passes defensed.

• Jacob's brother, Josh Martin, had an eight-year NFL playing career as a linebacker for the Kansas City Chiefs, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Indianapolis Colts, N.Y. Jets and New Orleans Saints.
• Martin is a dog lover and has three of his own. In 2025, he partnered with Humane Rescue Alliance in Washington D.C. to host a Tails & Tailgate event to help bring people and pups together for animal rescue. He also spearheaded a "55 Rescue Drive," helping reduce adoption fees for large dogs and shining a spotlight on some of the longer-stay shelter pups. He then capped off the year with a special holiday vaccine clinic, surprising pet owners with free care and inspiring others to give back.

• Signed by the N.Y. Jets as an unrestricted free agent on March 18, 2022.
• Traded by the Jets with a 2024 fifth-round pick to the Denver Broncos in exchange for a 2024 fourth-round pick on Nov. 1, 2022.
• Released by the Broncos on May 10, 2023.
• Signed by the Texans as a free agent on May 22, 2023.
• Released by the Texans on Aug. 29, 2023.
• Signed by the Indianapolis Colts as a free agent on Aug. 31, 2023.
• Signed by the Chicago Bears as an unrestricted free agent on March 17, 2024.

COLLEGE:
• Played four seasons at Temple University (2014-17) and appeared in 50 games with 15 starts. Tallied 80 tackles, 11.5 sacks, 17.5 stops for loss, two passes defensed, two forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries (one returned for a touchdown) during his career with the Owls.
• As a senior (2017), selected second-team All-American Athletic Conference after finishing second on the team with eight sacks, second with 11 stops for loss, first with two fumble recoveries and tied for second with two forced fumbles, while recording 44 tackles.
• As a junior (2016), played in 12 games with one start and recorded 18 tackles, 2.5 sacks, 2.5 stops for loss and two passes defensed. Was awarded with a single-digit jersey (went from 91 to 9). Temple awards single digit numbers to the toughest players on the team as voted on by the players.
• As a sophomore (2015), played in all but one game as a part of a defensive line rotation and on special teams. Notched five tackles, including a sack and 2.5 stops for loss.
• As a true freshman (2014), saw action in 12 games with two starts and notched 13 tackles, 1.5 stops for loss and a fumble recovery. Was one of two true freshmen to see significant action.
• Graduated with a degree in journalism from Temple in 2018.

PERSONAL:
• Attended Cherokee Trail (Colo.) High School where he played defensive end.
• As a senior (2013), helped lead the Cougars to a 10-3 record by posting 44 tackles, 5.5 sacks and eight stops for loss.
• Was elected coordinator of alumni relations for the American Athletic Conference Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
