In camp (8): Jermaine Johnson II, Jaylen Harrell, Keldric Faulk, Femi Oladejo, Malik Herring, Truman Jones, Jacob Martin, David Ebuka Agoha.
Player to watch: Jermaine Johnson. The Titans traded for Johnson, the 26th overall pick of the Jets in the 2022 NFL Draft, after he tallied 131 tackles, 13 sacks, 27 quarterback hits and 20 tackles for a loss in four seasons with New York. Johnson was a Pro Bowl performer with the Jets in 2023, when he posted a career-high 7.5 sacks and 55 tackles while starting all 17 games, but a year later his 2024 season ended early because of a torn Achilles. Johnson had three sacks in 2025, along with 43 tackles and six quarterback hits. If Johnson can return to form in Tennessee, it would help change the look of the defense.
What I've seen so far: Johnson flashed in the offseason work, providing glimpses of what he is capable of in Robert Saleh's system. Femi Oladejo was sidelined most of the offseason, and spent time rehabbing. Rookie Keldric Faulk's size and athleticism were impressive as he started his NFL journey. This group's effort and energy were on full display all offseason, as new defensive line coach Aaron Whitecotton pushed all of them to the max. Like Oladejo, Harrell missed some time. Veterans Jacob Martin and Malik Herring were tone-setters, and hungry young players like Jones, and David Ebuka Agoha busted it in drills.
What I think the Titans need to see in camp: The Titans are counting on Johnson to be a game-wrecker on the outside, and a strong camp would put him in great position to start the season with a bang … against his old team in Week 1. But others are also on the spot, and the team needs guys to develop and produce. After missing most of the offseason work, in a year when he's learning a new defense and job assignment, Oladejo will be challenged in camp, and the Titans need him to build momentum. It will be fun to watch Faulk, a first-round pick, develop on the job, right in front of our eyes. I've always liked both Harrell and Jones, and I'm looking forward to watching them compete. Some spots are up for grabs at this position group, and the Titans are looking forward to a fierce competition.
