Jalen McMurray

PRO: The Titans signed Jalen McMurray as a rookie free agent following the 2026 NFL Draft. The 5-foot-11-inch, 184-pounder is a versatile defensive back with experience both in the slot and outside. The Upper Marlboro, Md., native appeared in 53 games with 33 starts over three seasons at Temple (2021-23) and two seasons at Tennessee (2024-25).

TITANS TIDBITS:
• During his senior season at Tennessee, McMurray joined teammate William Wright to give back to the Knoxville community during the holiday season. They hosted a toy drive for the kids at the Boys and Girls Club of the Tennessee Valley and East Tennessee Children's Hospital.

CAREER TRANSACTIONS:  
• The Upper Malboro, Md., native was signed by the Titans as a rookie free agent on April 30, 2026.

COLLEGE: 
• Saw action in 53 games with 33 starts over three seasons at Temple (2021-23) and two seasons at Tennessee (2024-25). Finished his college career with 160 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, one interception, 20 pass breakups, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.

AS A SENIOR (2025), played in all 13 games with nine starts for the Volunteers at the STAR position. Finished the year with 56 tackles, six tackles for loss, two sacks and two quarterback hurries. Ranked third on the team with five pass breakups. Was a member of the team's leadership group. 
• Against Syracuse (8/30), racked up a career-high tying seven tackles, including his first career sack. Made a pivotal pass breakup that led to an interception by Jeremiah Telander.
• Against Georgia (9/13), tied his career high with seven tackles in the SEC opener.
• At Alabama-Birmingham (9/20), finished the game with a career-high two tackles for loss, half a sack and one pass breakup.
• Against Oklahoma (11/1), posted five tackles.
• Against Illinois (12/30), finished the game with two tackles and two pass breakups, one of which prevented a touchdown in the Music City Bowl.

AS A JUNIOR (2024), played in 13 games and made one start at cornerback in his first season at Tennessee. Totaled 14 tackles and four pass breakups. 
• Against Chattanooga (8/31), earned the start at cornerback in his Tennessee debut and notched a tackle.
• Against Georgia (11/16), had two tackles and a pass breakup.
• At Vanderbilt (11/30), posted his fourth pass breakup of the season.

AS A SOPHOMORE (2023), started all 11 games he played in his final season at Temple and tallied 39 tackles, 1.5 tackle for loss and four pass breakups. Transferred to Tennessee at the end of the season. 
• At Rutgers (9/9), collected a season-best two pass breakups and a half tackle for loss.
• At Florida (10/4), recorded 14 total tackles as well as a fumble recovery.
• At Alabama-Birmingham (11/18), had a season-high seven tackles.

AS A FRESHMAN (2022), started all 12 games at cornerback for the Owls, and totaled 49 tackles, a team-high eight pass breakups, one interception, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. Named to the Freshman All-American second team by College Football News. 
• At Duke (9/2), tallied a season-high seven tackles in the season opener.
• Against Rutgers (9/17), tied his season-high with seven tackles.
• Against Tulsa (10/21), recorded an interception and returned it four yards.
• Against Southern Florida (11/5), logged forced fumble and recovery in the win. Added four tackles and one tackle for loss.

AS A REDSHIRT FRESHMAN (2021), played in four games before redshirting at Temple.  
• At Rutgers (9/4), made his collegiate debut.
• Earned a degree in sport management with a minor in business administration from Tennessee in Dec. 2025.

PERSONAL:  
• Attended Gonzaga College (Washington D.C.) High School and was a four-year letterman at defensive back, wide receiver and return specialist.
• Considered a three-star prospect by ESPN. Ranked as one of the top 15 recruits in the Washington D.C. area by 247Sports and ESPN.
• As a junior (2019), led the team with four interceptions while being named to the All-WCAC first team.
• As a sophomore (2018), led the team in interceptions while being named honorable mention All-WCAC.
• Son of Alfred and Anne McMurray.
