Biography
PRO: The Titans signed Hendon Hooker as a free agent during the 2026 offseason. The 6-foot-3-inch quarterback entered the NFL as a third-round pick of the Detroit Lions and appeared in three games for the club. The University of Tennessee product has also spent time with the Carolina Panthers and New York Jets.

2025 (0/0 - Carolina; 0/0 - N.Y. Jets): Spent the first 10 weeks of the season on the Panthers' practice squad before being released and signing to the Jets' practice squad for the final three weeks of the season.
2024 (3/0 - Detroit): Saw action in three games at quarterback and completed six of nine passes for 62 yards for a 86.3 passer rating. Did not play in 14 games.
• At Dallas (10/13), made his NFL debut and completed one of two passes for 19 yards.

COLLEGE:
• Appeared in 49 games with 37 starts between Virginia Tech (2017-20) and Tennessee (2021-22). During his collegiate career, totaled 11,053 yards of total offense, completing 632 of 944 passes for 8,974 yards and 80 touchdowns with 12 interceptions. Added 2,079 yards on 517 carries with 25 scores on the ground, including four 100-yard rushing games.
• As a graduate (2022), started all 12 games for the Volunteers and produced 3,565 yards of total offense, completing 229 of 329 passes for 3,195 yards with 27 touchdowns and two interceptions. Also rushed 104 times for 430 yards with five touchdowns. Broke his own single-season school record for completion percentage (69.6). His 175.5 quarterback rating was second in single-season school history behind his 2021 school record.
• As a senior (2021), appeared in all 13 games with 11 starts for the Volunteers and produced 3,561 yards of total offense. Threw for 2,945 yards with 31 touchdowns and three interceptions. Broke Tennessee single-season records for passer efficiency rating and completion percentage. Additionally, rushed for 616 yards on 166 carries with five touchdowns.
• As a junior (2020), appeared in eight games with seven starts for Virginia Tech during the COVID-19 shortened season. Threw for 1,339 yards with nine touchdowns and added nine rushing touchdowns.
• As a sophmore (2019), appeared in 11 games with eight starts for Virginia Tech. Led the team in total offense with 1,911 yards and passing yards with 1,555 yards. Was also responsible for a team-high 18 touchdowns and ranked second on the team with 356 yards.
• As a redshirt freshman (2018), appeared in six games for the Hokies. Took one snap against Boston College, two carries at Duke and had his first collegiate score, a 69-yard touchdown run, against William & Mary.
• As a true freshman (2017), did not see game action and redshirted.
PERSONAL:
• Attended James B. Dudley (N.C.) High School where he passed for 6,027 yards and 55 touchdowns. Rushed for 2,975 yards with 48 touchdowns.
• Was a three-time all-conference selection, two-time Associated Press All-State team member, All-State Player of the Year by NC Preps, two-time state champion and named the 2016 championship game MVP after accounting for six touchdowns. Finished his career as Dudley's all-time leading passer.
