Biography
PRO: The Titans signed Sean Brown as a rookie free agent following the 2026 NFL Draft. The 5-foot-10-inch, 221-pounder played in 48 college games with 26 starts at linebacker (18 starts) and defensive back (11 starts). The NC State product is a rangy linebacker with a nose for the ball and athleticism from his background as a safety. In five college seasons (2021-25), he recorded 225 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, five sacks, two interceptions, seven pass breakups, three forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries.
TITANS TIDBITS:
• Played the 2023 and 2024 seasons with fellow Titans rookie free agent Bishop Fitzgerald at NC State. In a 2023 game at Virginia, caught a deep pass deflected by Fitzgerald for a Wolfpack interception.
• Brown was voted a team captain prior to his first season as a linebacker in 2024 and again in 2025.
• Brown has a love for bowling and considers it one of his hidden talents.
CAREER TRANSACTIONS:
• The Charlotte, N.C., native was signed by the Titans as a rookie free agent on Apr. 30, 2026.
COLLEGE:
• Saw action in 48 games with 29 starts in five seasons (2021-25) at NC State. Began his career as a safety before switching to linebacker before his junior year. Tallied 225 total tackles, 17 stops for loss, five sacks, two interceptions, seven passes breakups, three forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries. Voted a team captain in 2024 and 2025.
AS A GRADUATE (2025), started five games at linebacker before missing the remainder of the season due to injury. In five games, logged 44 tackles, 3.5 stops for loss, and a pass breakup. Voted a team captain prior to the season for the second consecutive season.
• Against East Carolina (8/28), opened the seaosn with 10 tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss.
• Against Virginia (9/6), recorded nine tackles and a stop for loss.
• At Wake Forest (9/11), tallied 12 tackles, a stop for loss and a pass breakup.
AS A SENIOR (2024), started all 13 games at linebacker. Converted from safety during the spring and led the team with 96 tackles, 8.5 stops for loss, three sacks, two forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries. His three fumble recoveries led the ACC and ranked fifth nationally. Named honorable mention All-ACC. Named to the preseason watch list for the Butkus Award.
• Against Tennessee (9/7), recorded 11 tackles and two stops for loss.
• At Clemson (9/21), registered his first sack of the season to go with five tackles.
• Against Northern Illinois (9/28), notched a career-high 13 tackles with a stop for loss and a sack. Added a forced fumble. In the first quarter, ran for two yards on a fake punt to convert a fourth-and-one.
• Against Wake Forest (10/5), recorded a sack for the third consecutive game. On the sack, striped the ball from the quarterback to return possesion to the Wolfpack and was credited with a forced fumble and fumble recovery. Added two tackles.
• Against Syracuse (10/12), logged eight tackles and a pass breakup.
• Against Duke (11/9), registered 10 tackles and a tackle assist for loss.
• At North Carolina (11/30), recorded four tackles and a fumble recovery.
AS A JUNIOR (2023), appeared in 13 games with 11 starts at safety. Ranked third on the team with 66 tackles, five stops for loss, two sacks, two interceptions, five passes defensed and one forced fumble. Made his first start of the season in Week 2 due to an injured teammate and went on to start 10 of the final 11 games.
• At UConn (8/31), recorded three tackles and two pass breakups.
• Against Notre Dame (9/9), made his first career start at safety, recording four tackles.
• Against Virginia Military Institute (9/16), tallied six tackles, a tackle assist for loss and a pass breakup.
• At Virginia (9/22), credited with his first career interception to go with nine tackles and a tackle assist for loss.
• Against Louisville (9/29), posted his two first career sacks in the same game. Added eight tackles including two for loss and a forced fumble.
• Against Clemson (10/28), tallied a season-high 11 tackles and a stop for loss. Made every tackle on the last drive to keep Clemson out of the end zone and secure the victory.
• At Wake Forest (11/11), registered two tackles and an interception returned for 33 yards.
• Against Kansas State (12/28), recorded seven tackles, a tackle for loss and two pass breakups in the Pop-Tarts Bowl.
AS A SOPHOMORE (2022), appeared in all 13 games as a reserve at safety, primarily playing on special teams. Finished the season with 18 tackles on defense. Started on four special teams units and led the team in special teams snaps. Named a finalist for PFF's National Special Teams Player of the Year. Scored his first career touchdown by recovering a blocked punt at East Carolina.
• At East Carolina (9/3), recovered a blocked punt in the end zone for a his first career touchdown. Also recorded two tackles.
• Against UConn (9/24), led the team with seven tackles on defense.
AS A REDSHIRT FRESHMAN (2021), saw action in four games on special teams and redshirted. Named the team's Co-Defensive Scout Team Player of the Year. Enrolled at NC State in January 2021.
• Graduated from NC State with a degree in sport management in Dec. 2024.
PERSONAL:
• Attended Hough (NC) High School, where he played for coach Matthew Jenkins. Ranked as the No. 166 safety nationally and the No. 86 player in the state of North Carolina by 247Sports.com. The school did not have a 2020 fall season before Brown enrolled at NC State in January 2021.
• As a junior (2019), ranked second on the team with 70 tackles. Added eight sacks and two inteceptions while helping the team to an 8-5 record and the second round of the North Carolina 4AA state playoffs.
• Also participated in track and field.
