Biography

PRO: The Titans used their third-round selection in the 2022 NFL Draft on offensive lineman Nicholas Petit-Frere. The 6-foot-5-inch, 316-pounder from Ohio State brings strength and athleticism to the position group. As a rookie, he started 16 games at right tackle and helped running back Derrick Henry rush for 1,538 yards, which ranked second in the NFL. A native of Tampa, Fla., Petit-Frere played in 35 games with the Buckeyes and was a member of three consecutive Big Ten Conference championship teams.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:
•   As a rookie in 2022, Petit-Frere started 16 games at right tackle. He joined Michael Roos (2005), Chance Warmack (2013) and Jack Conklin (2016) as the only offensive linemen in the franchise's "Titans era" (1999–present) to start at least 16 games as a rookie.

TITANS TIDBITS: 
•   Petit-Frere was about 270 pounds when he arrived at Ohio State, and it took him a while to get to his current weight around 315 pounds. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he learned how to cook to help him continue his weight progress. He still enjoys cooking to this day, especially a lot of pastas, but says he can cook anything. He really enjoys trying out new recipes.
•   Petit-Frere is trying to learn how to play the piano after playing the cello in middle school.
•   Petit-Frere worked for Metropolitan Ministries in high school and would like to continue to be involved in education and causes to help underprivileged children and victims of domestic violence.

CAREER TRANSACTIONS: 
•   The Tampa, Fla., native was selected by the Titans in the third round (69th overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft.

COLLEGE:
•   Played parts of four seasons at Ohio State and saw action in 35 career games with 20 starts. Was a member of three consecutive Big Ten Conference championship teams (2018-20) and was a part of two Ohio State teams that qualified for the College Football Playoffs (2019-2020).
•   As a junior (2021), named first team All-Big Ten by both the coaches and media after starting all 12 games at left tackle. Earned first-team All-American honors by the Football Writers Association of America and CBS Sports. Helped Ohio State rank No. 1 in the nation in total offense and scoring offense. Was on the 2021 Outland Trophy watch list.
•   As a sophomore (2020), received second-team All-Big Ten honors after starting seven games at right tackle for the eighth-ranked rushing attack in the country. Selected an Ohio State scholar-athlete and named Academic All-Big Ten.
•   As a redshirt freshman (2019), saw action in 13 games with one start at left tackle against Northwestern.
•   As a true freshman (2018), played in three games as a reserve before being redshirted. Named an Ohio State scholar-athlete.
•   Graduated in the Fall of 2021 with a bachelor's degree in business marketing from Ohio State.

PERSONAL:
•   Attended Berkeley Prep (Tampa, Fla.) and was the nation's consensus top-ranked offensive tackle prospect with ESPN, Rivals and 247Sport.
•   Was a consensus five-star recruit and one of just three offensive tackles in the 2018 class to receive a five-star designation. Was selected to the Under Armour All-America Game.
•   As a senior (2017), was named a finalist for the Franklin D. Watkins Memorial Trophy Award, given to the top African-American high school football player in the country.
•   As a junior (2016), helped lead the Buccaneers to the Class 3A state semifinals.
•   Also played basketball for three years and participated in track and field as a senior.
•   Was nicknamed The Law Firm in high school.
•   Is the son of Loris Petit-Frere, who is a first-generation American from Haiti.
•   Last name is pronounced puh-TEET FRAIR.
