Biography
PRO: The Titans signed veteran signal caller Joshua Dobbs to the active roster from the Detroit Lions' practice squad prior to Week 16 of the 2022 regular season. The 6-foot-3-inch, 216-pounder entered the NFL as a fourth-round selection (135th overall) by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2017 NFL Draft. He has played in six games as a reserve, all with the Steelers. Dobbs has also spent time with the Jacksonville Jaguars (2019) and Cleveland Browns (2022). In four years at the University of Tennessee (2013-16), he played in 37 games and set multiple school records including career rushing yards by a quarterback (2,160) and career rushing touchdowns by a quarterback (32).

• Dobbs spent two years in a row (2020-21) with the NASA Kennedy Space Flight Center as part of the NFLPA's virtual Externship program, which provides NFL players with professional development experiences to prepare them for careers after football.
• Dobbs spent the summer of 2015 at an internship at Pratt & Whitney, where he worked at the world leader in design, manufacture and service of aircraft engines for the United States government.

• Activated from the Lions' practice squad to the active roster standard elevation on Dec. 17, 2022.

COLLEGE:
• Started 35 of 37 games played at the University of Tennessee (2013-16). Finished his career with a 23-12 record, 3-0 in Bowl games, as a starting quarterback, tying for the fifth-most wins by a starting signal caller in program history.
• Set school records for career rushing yards by a quarterback (2,160), career rushing touchdowns by a quarterback (32), single-season rushing yards by a quarterback (831 in 2016) and single-season rushing touchdowns by a quarterback (12 in 2016).
• Ranked fifth in Tennessee history in career passing yards (7,138) and his 9,360 yards of total offense (7,138 passing, 2,160 rushing and 62 receiving) ranked third in school annals.
• Was one of three quarterbacks in SEC history to record 15 passing touchdowns and 10 rushing scores in multiple seasons.
• Was one of four conference quarterbacks to have over 50 career passing touchdowns and 25 career rushing scores.
• As a senior (2016), was named second-team All-SEC and earned SEC Offensive Player of the Year honors by Athlon Sports.
• Was named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll in back-to-back seasons (2014-15).
• Graduated with a degree in aerospace engineering from Tennessee.
PERSONAL:
• Attended Alpharetta High School (Alpharetta, Ga.) and earned first team All-State, first team All-County, first team All-Region, second team All-Area, first team All-Conference, Alpharetta High School Offensive MVP, and AHS Scholar Athlete honors in his senior and junior seasons
• Named the Georgia Rising Senior Bowl MVP with a 237-passing yard performance, and rushing for 56 yards with three total touchdowns in the game.
