Also had one safety, two pass break-ups and five quarterback pressures. Was named first team All-Big Ten by league coaches, the Associated Press and Athlon Sports. Was awarded the team hustle award.
•   As a junior (2015), started all 14 games and recorded 45 tackles, including 5.5 tackles for loss and four sacks. Was named honorable mention All-Big Ten by the league coaches and media.
•   As a sophomore (2014), saw action in all 13 games and notched 11 total tackles with 2.5 tackles for loss and one sack.
•   As a redshirt freshman (2013), appeared in seven games and recorded one assisted tackle.
•   As a freshman (2012), redshirted.
•   Graduated with a bachelor's degree in sociology from Iowa.

PERSONAL:
•   Attended Montini Catholic (Lombard, Ill.) High School for his senior year after spending his first three years at St. Joseph's (Westchester, Ill.).
•   Earned prep All-American honors and first-team All-State recognition his senior year.
•   Was a team captain and played both offensive and defensive line as his team went 12-2 en route to winning the state championship.
•   Also wrestled at St. Joseph's, earning two varisty letter.
