Biography

PRO: The Titans selected Jaelyn Duncan in the sixth round (186th overall) of the 2023 NFL Draft. The 6-foot-6-inch, 306-pounder brings quick feet and patient hands to the trenches of the offensive line. As a rookie, Duncan appeared in 10 games, making five starts at left tackle. The New Carrollton, Md., native appeared in 42 games with 39 starts at left tackle over five seasons at Maryland.

TITANS TIDBITS:
• Growing up, Duncan didn't play organized sports and wasn't introduced to football until he was a freshman at Northern High School. As a freshman, Duncan played travel football for the Patuxent Rhinos 15-U team. He then joined the varsity team at Northern as a sophomore where he played until transferring for his senior year to St. Frances Academy, a Catholic high school in Baltimore with many high-profile recruits.
• Duncan said he relied on his sheer physical advantages until his redshirt freshman year of college when he really began to understand and implement different techniques into his game.
• Duncan and Titans first-round draft pick Peter Skoronski faced off in the Big Ten, worked out together and share the same trainer. Duncan has also reunited with Titans tight end and Maryland alum Chig Okonkwo.

CAREER TRANSACTIONS:
• The New Carrollton, Md., native was selected by the Tennessee Titans in the sixth round (186th overall) of the 2023 NFL Draft.

COLLEGE:
• In five seasons at Maryland (2018-22), Duncan appeared in 42 games with 39 starts. A four-year starter on the offensive line, Duncan won the starting left tackle position one game into his redshirt freshman campaign. Was named Honorable Mention All-Big Ten three times during his career (2020-22).
• As a senior (2022), started all 12 games he appeared in. Blocked for a Maryland passing offense that ranked third in the Big Ten in 2022 by averaging 259.8 yards per game in the air. Participated in the Reese's Senior Bowl and was chosen to participate in the NFL Combine. Named Honorable Mention All-Big Ten.
• As a junior (2021), appeared in all 13 games with 11 starts at left tackle. Part of Pro Football Focus Offensive Line of the Week for efforts against Kent State (9/25). Blocked for the record-setting pass offense, which set a program record for most passing yards in a season with 3,960. Protected Taulia Tagovailoa, who broke program records in passing yards (3,860), passing touchdowns (26), completions (328), completion percentage (69.2%) and 300-yard passing games (seven). Named Honorable Mention All-Big Ten.
• As a sophomore (2020), started all five games, one of only six Terps to play in all five contests. Helped block for Big Ten's second-highest ranked passing offense, averaging 264 yards per game. Opened holes for Jake Funk, who averaged 8.60 yards per carry, the second-highest average in the FBS. Protected for Taulia Tagovailoa, who threw for 1,011 yards in just four games, including the 10th highest passing total in a single game in program history with 394 in win over Minnesota (10/30). Named Honorable Mention All-Big Ten.
• As a redshirt freshman (2019), appeared in all 12 games, starting in the final 11 at left tackle. Blocked for a running back tandem in Javon Leake and Anthony McFarland Jr., who were one of only two duos on power five teams in the country to both have seven rushing touchdowns. Blocked for Javon Leake, who averaged 7.2 yards per carry, the fourth-highest total of the country. Contributed to an offense that had three games scoring over 45 points. Blocked for the second-most points in Maryland history with 79 vs Howard (8/31).
• Redshirted in 2018.
• Graduated in December of 2022 with a degree in family science from Maryland.

PERSONAL:
• Attended Northern (Md.) High School for his first three years of high school before transferring to St. Frances for his senior year.
• Earned Baltimore Sun first-team All-Metro honors at left tackle after helping the Panthers to a 13-0 record against local and national opponents. and the MIAA A Conference Championship.
• Was a 4-star recruit and ranked third overall in the state of Maryland according to ESPN. A 2017 Under Armour All-American.
• Chose the University of Maryland over many other schools so that he could stay close to friends and family.
• Son of Tamika Duncan.
