Biography

PRO: The Titans signed veteran cornerback Buster Skrine as a free agent on Nov. 23, 2021 to add experience and depth to the secondary. The 5-foot-9-inch, 187-pounder arrives in Tennessee having collected nine interceptions, 85 pass defensed and 539 tackles in 11 seasons with the Cleveland Browns (2011-14), New York Jets (2015-18), Chicago Bears (2019-20) and San Francisco 49ers (2021). Skrine entered the NFL as a fifth-round pick of the Browns (137th overall) in the 2011 NFL Draft.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:
•   Skrine appeared in every game for five consecutive years (2011-2015) while with the Cleveland Browns and the New York Jets.
•   In 2014, Skrine recorded career highs with four interceptions and 18 passes defensed.

•   His given name is Daryl Frank Skrine II. He was originally nicknamed Buster by his grandmother to differentiate him from his father Daryl "Butch" Skrine.
•   Skrine was a three-time Georgia state wrestling champion in high school and also competed in track, winning the county championship in the triple jump.

•   Appeared in 42 games with 30 starts at the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga (2007-10). Totaled 155 career tackles and five interceptions including a 46-yard return for a touchdown. Also returned 40 kickoffs for 891 yards (22.3 avg.). Was named to the All-Southern Conference first team as a junior and senior.
•   As a senior (2010), saw action in 10 games with eight starts and totaled 39 tackles, a tackle for loss, a fumble recovery, an interception and eight pass defensed.
•   As a junior (2009), started all 11 games and tallied 45 tackles, two interceptions, a tackle for loss and eight pass defensed.
•   As a sophomore (2008), appeared in 10 games with eight starts and recorded 48 tackles, a fumble recovery, a tackle for loss and four pass defensed.
•   As a freshman (2007), played in all 11 games with two starts and registered 23 tackles, two interceptions, three tackles for loss and a pass defensed.
•   Majored in business management at Chattanooga.

PERSONAL: 
•   Attended Etowah (Ga) High School and earned all-county, all-region and all-state honors.
•   As a senior, was named the Cherokee County Player of the Year.
•   As a junior, named all-county at defensive back and was selected as the team's MVP after recording 61 tackles and two interceptions.
•   Won the county championship in triple jump and finished second in long jump and earned All-County honors in track and field.
