Biography

PRO: The Titans signed offensive lineman Avery Gennesy during the 2020 offseason to provide depth and competition to the interior of the offensive front. The 6-foot-3-inch, 318-pounder was originally signed as a rookie free agent by the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2017. Gennesy has also spent time with the Cleveland Browns and Denver Broncos, in addition to the AAF and XFL.

TITANS TIDBITS: 
•   Gennesy played at East Mississippi Community College under Coach Buddy Stephens and won the 2013 National Junior College Championship with a 12-0 record. Two years later, Netflix filmed a documentay television series called Last Chance U, featuring the EMCC football program.

•   The Southaven, Miss., native was originally signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars as an undrafted free agent on May 1, 2017.
•   Waived by the Jaguars on Sept. 2, 2017 and added to the team's practice squad a day later.

•   Signed by the Jaguars as a free agent on Jan. 22, 2018.

Waived by the Browns at roster cuts. Signed by the Denver Broncos to the team's practice squad during Week 1 and spent seven weeks in that capacity.

•   As a junior (2015), started at left tackle and was a member of an offense that was the seventh group in school history to gain more than 5,000 total yards, 3,000 passing yards and 2,000 rushing yards in the same season. Was a member of the SEC Academic Honor Team.
•   Redshirted in 2014 after transferring to Texas A&M from East Mississippi Community College.
•   Spent two seasons (2012-13) at East Mississippi Community College in Scooba, Miss. Helped lead the East Mississippi Lions to the 2013 National Junior College Championship and a 12-0 record, including a win over Georgia Military in the Mississippi Bowl. Cleared the way for an offense that averaged an NJCAA-best 62.2 points
•   Majored in agricultural leadership and development at Texas A&M.
