Anfernee Orji

PRO: The Titans claimed Anfernee Orji off waivers from the New Orleans Saints during the 2025 offseason. The 6-foot-2-inch, 230-pounder is a versatile and agressive linebacker with a proven ability on special teams. The Vanderbilt product saw action in 42 games as a linebacker for the Commodores and amassed 272 tackles with five forced fumbles. As a rookie, Orji added depth to the Saints' linebacker room and special teams units. He tallied 18 tackles and added an additional 12 tackles on special teams.

• In his NFL debut, Orji led the Saints with four special teams tackles.

• Orji played the viola in his school's orchestra from fifth grade to 11th grade.

CAREER TRANSACTIONS:
• The Rockwell, Texas native was signed by the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent on May 1, 2023.
• Released by the Saints on Aug. 29, 2023 and was signed to the team's practice squad a day later.
• Signed by the Saints to a futures contract on Jan. 9, 2024.
• Waived by the Saints on May 13, 2025s
• Claimed off waivers by the Titans on May 14, 2025.

COLLEGE:
• Played in 42 games with 33 starts in four seasons at Vanderbilt (2019-22) and recorded 272 tackles, 22 tackles for loss, six passes defensed, five forced fumbles, four sacks and one interception. Led the Commodores in tackles for three consecutive years (2020-22), the first Commodore to do so since 2003-05 (Moses Osemweige).
• As a senior (2022), started all 12 games and logged 108 tackles, three forced fumbles, two sacks, one interception, 7.5 tackles for loss, and one fumble return for a touchdown. Led the SEC with nine tackles per game. He was one of seven players in the SEC to force at least three fumbles and was one of 10 players in the league with multiple fumble recoveries. Named to Phil Steele second team All-SEC.
• As a junior (2021), started all 12 games for the Commodores. He led the team with 93 tackles and 13 tackles for loss. In addition, he had one sack, one pass defensed and a forced fumble. He finished 12th in the SEC in total tackles.
• As a sophomore (2020), started nine games and led the team with 66 tackles. Also, tallied 1.5 tackles for loss, one sack, two passes defensed and one forced fumble.
• As a freshman (2019), appeared in nine games. Totaled six tackles, one pass defensed and one quarterback hurry.
• Graduated with a bachelor's degree in communications and science technology from Vanderbilt.

PERSONAL:
• Attended Rockwall (Texas) High School where he was a four-star prospect by Rivals and three-star prospect by ESPN and 247Sports. He logged 299 tackles and five interceptions in four-year varsity career.
• As a senior (2018), served as a co-captain and recorded 94 tackles with a pair of interceptions returned for touchdowns.
• Orji was named 2017 all-district and 2016 Region 11-6A Defensive Newcomer of the Year.
• Orji has varsity letters in football, track, and wrestling.
• Orji has two brothers, Alston and Alex. Alston played football for Campbell University and Vanderbilt and Alex played at the University of Michigan and currently plays for University of Nevada Las Vegas.
