Jack Gibbens

PRO: The Titans signed Jack Gibbens as an undrafted free agent following the 2022 NFL Draft. The 6-foot-3-inch, 242-pounder was waived during roster cuts and rejoined the practice squad in Week 2. He would eventually appear in five games with two starts. Prior to entering the NFL, he appeared in 13 games with 13 starts in one season at Minnesota and tallied 92 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, three passes defensed and one forced fumble. The Bulverde, Texas, transferred to Minnesota after four seasons at Abilene Christian (2017-20) where he saw action in 39 games and recorded 257 tackles, 22 tackles for loss, seven sacks, five interceptions, 11 passes defensed, one forced fumble, three fumble recoveries and one blocked kick.

TITANS TIDBITS:
•   As a rookie, he was nicknamed 'Dr. Gibby' by Head Coach Mike Vrabel. When asked how quickly the nickname came about and why it did, Vrabel said, 'Quickly. He's smart. He answered all the questions and said, 'Coach, I wasn't in pre-med.' I said, 'I know it's a joke.''
•   Gibbens spent time working as a financial analysis intern and served as a teaching and research assistant during college.
•   While in college, Gibbens volunteered with two organizations: New Horizons, which helps children through counseling, foster care, and adoption; and Palm House, which provides neighborhood resources.

•   The Bulverde, Texas, native was signed by the Titans as a rookie free agent on May 13, 2022.
•   Waived by the Titans on Aug. 30, 2022.

•   As a redshirt senior (2021), started all 13 games in his lone season at Minnesota and amassed 92 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, three passes defensed and one forced fumble. Earned All-Big Ten honorable mention recognition. Transferred to Minnesota from Abilene Christian.
•   As a senior (2020), saw action in six contests and notched 49 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, one interception, one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries and one blocked kick.
•   As a junior (2019), appeared in 12 games and tallied a career-high 104 tackles. Added 8.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, a career-best two interceptions, six passes defensed and one fumble recovery.
•   As a sophomore (2018), played in 11 games and amassed 77 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, one interception and one pass defensed. Earned Southland Conference honorable mention accolades.
•   As a freshman (2017), saw action in 10 contests and notched 27 tackles, 0.5 tackle for loss and one interception.
•   Graduated from Abilene Christian in August 2020 with a degree in accounting and finance.
•   Graduated from Minnesota in December 2021 with a master's in accounting.

PERSONAL:
•   Attended Smithson Valley (Texas) High School where he was named first team all-district as a senior.
•   His combined stats during his junior and senior seasons included 228 tackles, 28 tackles for loss and seven sacks.
•   Married to Colleen.
•   Has two brothers, Will and Brad, and two sisters, Victoria and Kristin.
