Greg Mabin

PRO: The Titans originally signed veteran cornerback Greg Mabin to the practice squad during Week 3 of the 2020 season to bring experience to the secondary. The University of Iowa product was brought back to the Titans' active roster in Week 7 of 2021 season for the same reason. The 6-foot-2-inch, 200-pounder originally signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as a rookie free agent following the 2017 NFL Draft and has also spent time with the Buffalo Bills, San Francisco 49ers, Cincinnati Bengals, Jacksonville Jaguars and Arizona Cardinals.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:
• In 2018, appeared in a career-high 13 games and made his first career start for the San Francisco 49ers. Totaled a career-best 11 tackles, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery on the season.

TITANS TIDBITS: 
• Mabin initially accepted a scholarship to Iowa to play wide receiver. After his freshman season, Kirk Ferentz called Mabin into his office to propose a position change to cornerback. "He said my skillset would probably transition better for cornerback rather than a receiver," Mabin said.
• Mabin's father, Dr. Wesley Mabin, played cornerback at Nebraska from 1968-71 and played on two national championship teams in 1970 and 1971.
• Mabin's cousin, Jordan Mabin, player cornerback at Northwestern (2008-11) and went on to spend time with the Baltimore Ravens, Cleveland Browns, Atlanta Falcons and San Diego Chargers from 2012-15.
• Mabin's cousin, Dorin Dickerson, played tight end in the NFL from 2010-15, spending time with the Houston Texans, New England Patriots, Buffalo Bills, Detroit Lions, Pittsburgh Steelers as well as the Titans (2014-15).

• As a senior (2016), started nine games and recorded 37 tackles, three passes defensed and one forced fumble. Earned honorable mention All-Big Ten recognition by the league's coaches. Awarded the defensive Coaches Appreciaion Award.
• As a junior (2015), started all 14 games and totaled 54 tackles, 0.5 tackle for loss, two interceptions, one forced fumble and ranked second on the team with eight passes defensed.
• As a sophomore (2014), played in all 13 games and made 12 starts. Amassed 53 tackles, 2.0 tackles for loss, one interception, five passes defensed and two fumble recoveries.
• As a redshirt freshman (2013), did not see game action.
• Redshirted in 2012.
• Majored in health and human physiology at Iowa.

PERSONAL:
• Attended Calvary Christian Academy (Fla). where caught 52 passes for 877 yards and 15 touchdowns as a senior.
