Calvin Throckmorton

PRO: The Titans acquired Calvin Throckmorton off waivers midway through the 2023 season to provide depth and versatility to the offensive front.  The 6-foot-5-inch, 311-pounder originally entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the New Orleans Saints in 2020.  The University of Oregon product spent his entire rookie season on the Saints' practice squad before playing in 31 games with 20 starts at three different positions on the New Orleans offensive line during the 2021-22 seasons.  In 2023, Throckmorton joined the Carolina Panthers and saw action in nine games with seven starts before arriving in Tennessee.

TITANS TIDBITS:  
•    Throckmorton has proved to be a versatile player during his football career.  He has primarily played both guard spots in the NFL, but was a chess piece during his collegiate career at Oregon.  He made 52 consecutive starts for the Ducks, including at right tackle, left tackle, center and right guard.

CAREER TRANSACTIONS:  
•    The Bellevue, Wash., native was originally signed by the New Orleans Saints as a rookie free agent on April 27, 2020.
•     Waived by the Saints on Sept. 5, 2020 and signed to the team's practice squad a day later.
•    Signed by the Saints' to a future's contract on Jan. 18, 2021.
•     Waived by the Saints on Aug. 29, 2023.
•    Claimed off waivers by the Carolina Panthers on Aug. 30, 2023.

COLLEGE: 
•    Attended Oregon and made 52 consecutive starts (right tackle-41, left tackle-5, right guard-3, center-3) for the Ducks and allowed just one sack over his final 3,224 snaps (45 contests).
•    As a senior (2019), named second-team All-American after starting all 14 games to extend his streak to 52 consecutive starts.  Made 12 starts at right tackle and two at center.  Did not allow a sack over 935 snaps played.  Finished third in the Pac-12 with a 90.2 pass-blocking grade and did not allow a pressure, hurry or quarterback hit in seven games.
•    As a junior (2018), was named a consensus second-team All-American and first-team All-Pac 12, as the only FBS player to start at four different offensive line positions.  Made six starts at right tackle, five at left tackle, one at center and one at right guard.  Played the fifth-most snaps (926) by a lineman in the nation without committing a penalty.
•    As a sophomore (2017), named Phil Steele Pac-12 All-Conference third-team and Pac-12 All-Academic first-team.  Started all 13 games with the first 10 at right tackle and the final three at right guard.  The position switch ended a streak of 22 consecutive starts at right tackle.  Did not allow a sack and extended his streak of consecutive games without a sack allowed to 18 contests.
•    As a redshirt freshman (2016), named Coaches Pac-12 All-Conference honorable mention and Pac-12 All-Academic.  Started all 12 games at right tackle.  Played in a team-high 91 percent of the offensive snaps (853) while committing just one penalty and allowing two sacks.
•     Redshirted for the 2015 season.
•     Graduated with a degree in human physiology, while also serving as a peer advisor to other undergraduate students within the major his last two years.

PERSONAL:  
•    Married to Hannah.
•    Attended Newport (Bellevue, Wash.) High School and was a consensus three-star and top 10 prospect in Washington.  Was a four-year defensive line starter as well as two-time KingCo 4A Lineman of the Year and first-team All-League pick.  Named to the Tacoma News Tribune's 2015 Northwest Nuggets honor roll and PrepStar All-West Region elite.
•    As a senior (2014), selected to the Associated Press 2014 4A All-State first-team and Seattle Times All-Area.  Was credited with 13 pancake blocks in addition to 61 tackles and nine stops for loss.
•    As a junior (2013), posted 46 tackles (39 solo) and recovered two fumbles.
•    As a sophomore (2012), contributed 33 tackles and three forced fumbles.
