Biography

PRO: The Titans signed Austin Hooper as a free agent during the 2022 offseason to add experience and leadership to the tight end room. Prior to his arrival in Tennessee, the 6-foot-4-inch, 254-pounder amassed 298 receptions for 3,024 yards with 23 touchdowns. The two-time Pro Bowl selection was originally selected by the Atlanta Falcons in the third round (81st overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft and spent his first four NFL seasons with the club. The San Mateo, Calif., native spent the last two campaigns with the Cleveland Browns after signing as an unrestricted free agent in 2020.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:
• Hooper has recorded at least three touchdown receptions in each of his five NFL seasons, including a career-high six with Atlanta in 2019.
• In 2019, Hooper enjoyed the most productive season of his career with career-bests of 75 receptions and 787 receiving yards for the Falcons.
• In 2018, Hooper snared 71 receptions for 660 yards with four receiving scores.
• Hooper caught a 19-yard touchdown pass in Super Bowl LI against New England on Feb. 5, 2017.
• Hooper recorded the longest reception by a tight end in a season-opening game in NFL history after an 88-yard touchdown at Chicago on Sept. 10, 2017.

• Hooper established the Austin Hooper Foundation, which helps foster care children with an emphasis on those aging out of the system.
• His father, Michael, played football at San Diego State while his uncle also played at Stanford.
• His brother, Justin, played baseball at UCLA and was selected by the Kansas City Royals in the 14th round of the 2019 MLB Draft.

• The San Mateo, Calif., native was selected by the Atlanta Falcons in the third round (81st overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft.

• Released by the Browns on March 16, 2022.

COLLEGE:
• Played in 27 games in his two seasons at Stanford and caught 74 passes for 937 yards and eight touchdowns during his career.
• As a sophomore (2015), was a Mackey Award finalist and was selected to the All-Pac-12 first team after recording 34 catches for 438 yards and six receiving touchdowns during his final year at Stanford. Also earned third-team All America honors from the Associated Press.
• As a freshman (2014), earned freshman All-American and second-team All-Pac-12 honors after posting 40 catches for 499 yards and two touchdowns.
• Redshirted in 2013.
• Majored in psychology at Stanford.

PERSONAL: 
• Attended De La Salle (Calif.) High School and was a 2012 Tacoma News Tribune Western 100 and a two-time San Francisco Chronicle All-Metro selection.
• Led De La Salle to CIF Open Division state titles in 2010, 2011 and 2012. De La Salle went 15-0 and ranked No. 1 nationally by ESPN and MaxPreps in 2012.
• As a senior (2012), caught 11 passes for 293 yardsand three touchdowns. Posted 39 tackles and eight sacks on defense.
• As a junior (2011), posted nine catches for 182 yards and two touchdowns with 46 tackles and 10.5 sacks on defense.
• Lettered in track and field and was all-league in the shot put with a 57-8 personal best.
• Born Austin Manuel Hooper on Oct. 29, 1994 in San Mateo, Calif.
