Quick Hits on the Titans From Wednesday of Giants Week

NASHVILLE – The Titans returned to practice field on Wednesday at Ascension Saint Thomas Sports Park to continue preparations for Sunday's regular season opener against the New York Giants.

Let's hit on the happenings of the day in a quick-hitting fashion:

Titans rookie receiver Treylon Burks, like the rest of his teammates, has worked for months for this.

On Sunday, the team's first-round pick will make his NFL debut.

"Words can't explain (how excited I am)," Burks said. "(I just) need to do the things I am coached to do, do the things my teammates hold me accountable for and just play ball."

In the preseason, Burks caught four passes for 37 yards and a touchdown.

"I just want to go out there and play my brand of football, and the team's brand of football," Burks said. "Be physical, fast, and go have fun."

-In addition to Burks, rookies Kyle Philips and Roger McCreary will also make their NFL debuts on Sunday.

-Outside linebacker/special teams ace Ola Adeniyi was voted a captain by his teammates earlier this week, and on Wednesday he said he was honored by the election.

-Safety Kevin Byard is a captain for the fourth time in his career. He said it never gets old.

-Receiver Josh Gordon, signed to the practice squad last week, practiced for the second time with the team.

-Going to write a story on quarterback Ryan Tannehill in just a bit, but here's a quick look at some of his comments from today:

-Defensive back Elijah Molden did not practice on Wednesday. He's listed on the Injury Report with a groin injury.

-Defensive back Lonnie Johnson did not practice on Wednesday. He's listed on the Injury Report with a groin injury.

-Linebacker Chance Campbell was limited in Wednesday's session with a knee injury.

-Offensive lineman Jamarco Jones was limited in Wednesday's session with a triceps injury.

-Tight end Thomas Odukoya, with the team on the NFL International Allocation, was not spotted at practice on Wednesday.

-The Giants released their first Injury Report on Wednesday, and it looked like this: DB Dane Belton (clavicle), DE Azeez Ojulari (calf), WR Sterling Shepard (Achilles) and LB Kayvon Thibodeaux (knee) were all limited in Wednesday's practice.

-The Titans return to the practice field on Thursday to continue preparations for the Giants.
