NASHVILLE – The Titans returned to the practice field on Friday at Vanderbilt Health Football Center to continue preparations for Sunday's game vs the Houston Texans.
Here's a look at today's developments:
-Titans safety Tony Adams hasn't had a bunch of opportunities to play this season.
Adams logged 10 snaps on defense last week, in addition to 13 more snaps on special teams.
On Sunday against the Texans, Adams is in line to start for the Titans.
Titans coach Robert Saleh on Friday ruled OUT safety Amani Hooker for Sunday's game, as he did not clear concussion protocol.
"Nothing changes, I prepare the same way," Adams said on Friday. "I am grateful, I get the opportunity to play ball, and I am grateful for it. I wish Hook a speedy recover, and I am excited to play ball."
Adams, in his first season with the Titans after playing the past four seasons with the Jets, has two tackles and a quarterback pressure on the season. He's also been credited with a quarterback pressure.
Adams said the chance to get into more of a groove on Sunday should help him feel more comfortable against the Texans. Adams played in 53 games in four seasons with the Jets, with 36 starts.
"It's always a challenge each week," Adams said of facing the Texans. "In the pass game, not allowing explosives, limiting the explosives (is key) and in the run game, stopping the run and making them one-dimensional (is important)."
-The Titans on Wednesday moved cornerback Joshua Williams to the team's Designated to Return to Practice list.
This designation opened up a three-week window for Williams to practice with the team, and he will not count against the team's 53-man roster until being activated from Injured Reserve.
Williams practiced again on Friday for the Titans, and is listed as QUESTIONABLE for Sunday's game.
Saleh said Williams had a good week, but he didn't commit to him being activated for the contest.
"He looks really good," Saleh said. "We'll discuss it later on today and tomorrow on whether or not we want to bring him up, but I thought he's had a great week of practice. And to be honest with you, he's ready to go today if we ask him to, but again, there's a lot of things going on with regards to roster gymnastics."
-Saleh said safety Isaiah Oliver will likely be elevated from the practice squad for Sunday's game.
As part of his Friday tradition, Saleh recognized Gibbs High School:
-Saleh talked about legendary Mike Ditka, who passed away on Friday:
-And now for all the injury updates on Friday:
-Defensive lineman John Franklin-Myers (back) practiced in full Friday and is good to go.
-Cornerback Marcus Harris (knee/ankle) practiced on a limited basis again on Friday but is good to go.
-Titans tight end Gunnar Helm (knee) was added to the Injury Report on Thursday, but Saleh said he should be OK. "He got bumped," Saleh said Helm. "He's good to go." Helm was a full participant on Friday.
-Titans receiver Carnell Tate (back) was added to the Injury Report on Thursday, but Saleh said he's also good to go. Saleh said he Tate, who was limited on Friday, had tightness on Thursday. He's listed as QUESTIONABLE for Sunday's game.
-Running back Tony Pollard (foot) practiced in full again on Friday and is good to go.
-Defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons (back) practiced in full on Friday and is good to go.
-Safety Kevin Winston Jr. (shoulder) practiced in a yellow jersey again on Friday but is good to go.
-Tight end David Martin-Robinson (hamstring) did not practice again on Friday. He's listed as QUESTIONABLE for Sunday's game.
-The Titans will hold a walkthrough on Saturday, ahead of Sunday's game vs the Texans.
