NASHVILLE – The Titans returned to the practice field on Thursday at Vanderbilt Health Football Center to continue preparations for Sunday's game at the Cleveland Browns.
Here's a look at today's developments:
-Defensive end Jermaine Johnson II is beginning to heat up for the Titans.
Johnson, acquired in a trade with the Jets during the offseason, tallied a pair of sacks in this past Sunday's win over the Colts, while also tying for the team lead with seven quarterback pressures.
It came a week after Johnson had three QBs pressures vs the Ravens, along with two tackles for a loss.
"Just staying consistent in my regiments, staying confident," Johnson said, "and doing everything the teams asks of me."
In six games this season, Johnson has 16 total tackles with three sacks, and 14 quarterback pressures.
With the Titans defense coming off a six-sack, three-turnover performance, Johnson is preaching consistency, and continued hunger.
"We always knew we were capable of that," Johnson said of the Colts game. "But anybody can do anything one time. The challenge is not to be complacent, to do it again and be consistent.
"There's a saying: Treat both imposters the same, in this case wining and losing. Don't get too high, and don't get on a high horse. We had a good performance, and we won the game. But there's a lot we have to fix, a lot we have to do better at, and we are looking forward to this opportunity on Sunday."
Here's more from Johnson:
-The Titans linebacker Dorian Mausi to the team's Designated to Return to Practice list.
This designation opened up a three-week window for Mausi to practice with the team, and he will not count against the team's 53-man roster until being activated from Injured Reserve.
Mausi practiced again on Thursday. The Titans need to officially activate Williams in order for him to be able to play on Sunday.
I chatted with Mausi after today's practice:
-I also chatted with defensive tackle Nazir Stackhouse on Thursday.
Defensive coordinator Gus Bradley complimented Stackhouse on Thursday, and with the departure of Jordan Elliott, Stackhouse could be in line for more work.
Here's Stackhouse:
