Quick Hits on the Titans From Wednesday of Bengals Week

quick-hits-10-28-26

NASHVILLE – The Titans returned to the practice field on Wednesday at Vanderbilt Health Football Center to continue preparations for Sunday's game at the Cincinnati Bengals.

Here's a look at today's developments:

-The NFL's trade deadline is approaching.

Titans defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons has seen players come and go in years past, and his name has been mentioned in the rumor mill in recent weeks.

Simmons said he's not paying attention.

"Each and every day I wake up, my goal is to be where my feet are at," Simmons said on Wednesday. "I'm never looking ahead, just being in the moment each and every day.

"I don't worry about the things that I can't control. Those types of things are also a distraction – that's a lot of fans and outside media. I haven't heard anything from my agent, I haven't heard anything from this organization. As far as I know, I am going to be here."

Here's Simmons in the locker room on Wednesday:

-The Titans signed veteran punter Thomas Morstead to the practice squad on Wednesday after a workout with the team.

I chatted with Morstead in the locker room on Wednesday about the opportunity, him growing up an Oilers fan, and him having his workout delayed a day because of an illness that caused him to lose 10 pounds.

The Titans signed Morstead after punter Tommy Townsend was injured in this past Sunday's game vs the Browns.

Here's more from Morstead:

-The Titans moved linebacker Dorian Mausi to the team's Designated to Return to Practice list earlier this month.

This designation opened up a three-week window for Mausi to practice with the team, and he will not count against the team's 53-man roster until being activated from Injured Reserve.

Mausi practiced in full again on Wednesday. The Titans need to officially activate Mausi in order for him to be able to play on Sunday.

-The Titans practiced in their Rivalries helmets on Wednesday — but won't wear them until Nov. 15 vs the Jaguars

Here's a look at QB Cam Ward and others in today's practice as the team prepares for this Sunday's game vs Bengals:

-And now for all the injury updates on Wednesday:

-Defensive lineman John Franklin-Myers (groin) did not practice.

-Receiver Calvin Ridley (hip) was limited in practice.

-Running back Tyjae Spears (knee) did not practice.

-Receiver Carnell Tate (shoulder) did not practice.

-Punter Tommy Townsend (left knee) did not practice.

-The Titans are scheduled to practice again on Thursday, ahead of Sunday's game vs the Bengals.
