NASHVILLE – The Titans returned to the practice field on Friday at Vanderbilt Health Football Center to continue preparations for Sunday's game at the Baltimore Ravens.
Here's a look at today's developments:
-Long snapper Morgan Cox began his NFL career with the Ravens back in 2010, an undrafted free agent out of the University of Tennessee.
Heading into the league, Cox said his mindset was no different than it is now.
"I'm game by game, week by week," Cox said. "I remember someone who had been in the league a while saying: 'I like his form, I think he could play a while.' I think he said 10 years, and that blew my mind. That was my rookie year. I still take the same approach now."
Cox is now in Year 17, with 264 career games, counting 11 postseason contests, under his belt.
Cox spent 11 seasons with the Ravens, and he was part of a Baltimore team that won the Super Bowl in 2012.
Cox joined the Titans in 2021, where he's continued his stellar career. Cox is a four-time captain and a five-time Pro Bowler.
At age 40, Cox loves his job now as much as he did back when he started, at age 23.
Cox will have family and friends on hand in Baltimore for Sunday's game. His wife, Lauren, and three of the couple's five children will be at the game as well. Sunday's game will be Cox's first regular season game in Baltimore since he played for the Ravens.
"I still pinch myself walking into the building here," Cox said. "And to be going back to where it all began is kind of a surreal experience."
Here's Morgan Cox in the locker room on Friday:
-Titans safety Kevin Winston Jr. was added to the injury report on Thursday with a shoulder injury, and he did not practice on Friday.
Titans coach Robert Saleh didn't sound overly concerned about Winston's availability, but said he'll be monitored.
"Kevin," Saleh said, "Obviously we'll see how he feels."
And now for all the injury updates:
-Defensive lineman John Franklin-Myers (back) practiced again Friday and is good to go.
-Running back Tony Pollard (foot) practiced again Friday and is good to go.
-Running back Tyjae Spears (ankle) practiced against on Friday. Saleh said he's heading in the right direction.
-Saleh didn't reveal the team's starter for Sunday at right guard, following injuries to Fernando Carmona and Jackson Slater against the Giants.
Saleh did say he feels good about the team's plans.
"Yeah, we're comfortable with the direction we're going," Saleh said. "Feel good about the way they've all worked."
Both Carmona and Slater were placed on Injured Reserve on Tuesday.
The team promoted Garrett Dellinger to the active roster earlier in the week, where he joined Atonio Mafi on the depth chart. The Titans also have guard Drew Moss on the practice squad, along with rookie Pat Coogan, who is listed as the back-up center on the active roster.
-The Ravens ruled out edge rusher Trey Hendrickson (finger) for Sunday's game vs the Titans.
-DT Jackie Marshall, tight end Joel Wilson and defensive back Jalen McMurray wore the black jerseys in Friday's practice. The jerseys represent the Titans who did the best on the show team in practices
I chatted with Marshall before practice about his progress, and being recognized for his hard work.
Here's the clip:
-As part of his weekly routine to honor a Tennessee high school, Saleh was representing Greeneville High School during his media availability on Friday:
-The Titans will hold a walkthrough on Saturday in Nashville before traveling to the Baltimore area on Saturday for Sunday's game at the Ravens.
