NASHVILLE – The Titans returned to the practice field on Friday at Ascension Saint Thomas Sports Park to continue preparations for Sunday's regular season opener against the New York Giants.

Here's a look at some Titans topics in quick-hitting fashion:

Nashville's Ugo Amadi Settled In

It's beginning to sink in for Nashville's Ugo Amadi.

The recently acquired defensive back is more comfortable on his new team, and still thrilled with the fact he's playing for his hometown squad.

"I feel like I've settled in pretty well," Amadi said. "I still have things to work on leading up to game one, but I feel overall confident about what's being asked of me this week."

Amadi, who prepped at John Overton High School, was acquired in a trade with the Eagles last month.

A fourth-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft out of Oregon, Amadi recorded 125 tackles, six tackles for loss, one interception, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery during the past three seasons in Seattle while playing in 47 regular season games, with 12 starts. He spent less than two weeks in Philadelphia after being traded there by Seattle before winding up back in Tennessee.

"Playing for the hometown, that has definitely soaked in," Amadi said with a smile. "It has definitely been a blessing – my family and friends can come and support me. I am embracing all of it."

So, how about the ticket requests?

"I am getting phone calls from everybody, people I haven't talked to in a long time," Amadi said, smiling even bigger. "I didn't even know they had my phone number. It's not out of hand, though. It's all good."

Woods Ready

Titans veteran receiver Robert Woods is ready to go.

Woods, acquired this offseason in a trade with the Rams, will make his Titans debut against the Giants.

Woods played a handful of snaps in the team's preseason finale, and said afterward he felt good in his first action since last year's ACL surgery.

He's ready to make an impact on his new team.

"Having a little taste in that Arizona preseason game, having that first catch and really just running around and having game experience, feeling that quickness, feeling ready, being able to get my hands on the ball," Woods said. "It was kind of that solidification that I am feeling ready, feeling quick, and ready to do it for the season."

Hooker Happy

The Titans on Friday agreed to terms on a multi-year contract extension with safety Amani Hooker.

After practice on Friday, Hooker said he's thankful for several reasons.

"It means a lot," Hooker said. "It shows how much the Titans believe in me and trust me, and I have that same trust and confidence in them. I am just going to do my job to make sure I can help this team win and help them win a Super Bowl."
