Quick Hits on the Titans From Friday of Dolphins Week

QuickHits-(10)

NASHVILLE – The Titans returned to the practice field on Friday at Ascension Saint Thomas Sports Park to continue preparations for Monday's game vs the Miami Dolphins.

Here's a look at today's developments:

Ty Zentner has some big shoes to fill, and he knows it.

Earlier this week, the Titans signed Zentner to the team's practice squad following the injury to Ryan Stonehouse, and he's expected to serve as the team's punter and holder on Monday night.

"It's been a quick turnaround," Zentner said on Friday. "Just trying to meet all the guys and focus on what I need to focus on to be ready for Monday night. … It's exciting for sure – you just sort of mentally prepare for it and just be ready to roll."

Zentner (6-2, 200), who will need to join the team's active roster in the next few days, was signed by the Eagles earlier this year as an undrafted college free agent, following the draft. He was released during training camp and signed by Houston. Zentner played in four games for the Texans this season and averaged 42.1 yards per punt (38.6-yard net average) on 14 punts with two punts placed inside the 20 and a long of 54 yards.

In recent weeks he'd been working out at Kansas State, where he played in college and finished second in school history with a career punting average of 43.3 yards (127 punts).

Zentner was one of seven punters brought in to work out after Stonehouse's injury. Zentner said Stonehouse has given him some background as he prepares for Monday night.

"Getting to go against some guys that I'd grown up watching on TV (in the workout) and realizing that I can do things good, and better than they can," Zentner said. "Just building confidence from that and just being ready to roll."
