NASHVILLE – The Titans returned to the practice field on Thursday at Ascension Saint Thomas Sports Park to continue preparations for Sunday's game vs the New England Patriots.

Here's a look at the developments from the day:

-Kicker Joey Slye appears to be on the verge of returning.

Special teams coordinator John Fassel provided an encouraging update Slye after Thursday's practice.

Slye was listed as limited on the team's injury report for the second straight day, but after missing Sunday's game against the Raiders because of a calf injury he suffered in Arizona, it was a positive development.

"We went over to the stadium (Wednesday) and did a little bit of kicking and he looked real good, healthy, and a week off actually did him some good," Fassel said of Slye. "So I am excited to see what he can do on Sunday – if he can go."

Matthew Wright kicked in place of Slye in Las Vegas.

In five games this season, Slye is 13-of-17 on field goals and 4-of-5 on extra points.

-Nose tackle T'Vondre Sweat (ankle) was limited for the second straight day.

The Titans on Wednesday moved Sweat to the team's Designated to Return to Practice list.

This designation opened up a three-week window for Sweat to practice with the team, and he will not count against the team's 53-man roster until being activated from Injured Reserve.

-Three players did not practice on Thursday:

Receiver Calvin Ridley (hamstring).

Edge Dre'Mont Jones (knee). Jones was just added to the injury report on Thursday.

Edge Arden Key (quadriceps).
