Quick Hits After Friday's Titans Practice

quick-hits-10-31-25

NASHVILLE – The Titans returned to the practice field on Friday at Ascension Saint Thomas Sports Park to ramp up preparations for Sunday's game vs the Los Angeles Chargers.

Here's a look at the developments from the day:

-The Titans were awarded guard Drew Moss off waivers on Thursday.

On Friday, Moss was on the practice field with his new team, decked out in No.67.

"It's been a good whirlwind," Moss said after practice. "It was real smooth getting on a plane, getting out here. Everyone has treated me so good right now. Just glad to be out here."

Moss was waived by the San Francisco 49ers on Wednesday. He appeared in five games with the 49ers after originally signing with the team as an undrafted free agent back in April. Moss made the team's 53-man roster out of training camp, when he earned positive reviews.

Moss, who can play center and guard, finished his college career at Colorado State.

He was learning his new teammates on Friday.

"I know we have some biguns on the o-line, real skilled and experienced guys," Moss said. "I am just happy to be a part of it. … I just want to provide value to the team, make it about the team. We want to win here."

I asked Moss to describe his style, and what he wants to be about.

His reply: "Technique-wise, I want to make sure I am doing it the Titan way, that's first off, what I want to focus on. After that, I just want to drive guys off the ball and freakin' maul people in pass pro whenever I get the chance."

-Titans cornerback Darrell Baker Jr. was named the team's nominee for the Salute to Service award earlier this week.

Darrell Baker Sr. and Johnetta Dixon, retired U.S. Army veterans, served stints in Baghdad, Iraq, and Kuwait, among other locations oversees. Darrell Baker Jr. was born on March 27, 1998, in Panama City, Panama, when his parents were stationed there.

I asked Baker about being the team's nominee, along with his military background and his upbringing, after practice:

Interim head coach Mike McCoy ruled OUT four starters for Sunday's game:

-Receiver Calvin Ridley (hamstring).

-Defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons (hamstring).

-Edge rusher Arden Key (quadriceps).

-Safety Xavier Woods (hamstring).

-Titans tight end Chig Okonkwo, who returned to practice on Friday after missing Thursday's session, will be the team's extra captain for Sunday's game.

Now, for all the other injury updates on Friday:

-Cornerback Darrell Baker Jr. (concussion) was a full participant and is good to go.

-DE James Lynch (shoulder) was limited for the third day in a row but he's good to go.

-Tackle Dan Moore (shoulder) was full participant for the second day in a row and is good to go.

-Tight end Chig Okonkwo (foot) was a full participant and is good to go.
