Quick Hits on the Titans After Monday's Practice

quick-hits-9-1-2025

NASHVILLE – The Titans returned to the practice field on Monday to begin preparations for Sunday's season opener against the Denver Broncos.

Here's a look at the developments from the day:

-The first injury report won't be released until Wednesday, but there were some encouraging signs at the start of the week.

Cornerback L'Jarius Sneed, right tackle JC Latham, defensive lineman T'Vondre Sweat, and center Lloyd Cushenberry were all at practice, in uniform.

Safety Kevin Winston Jr. and running back Kalel Mullings were at practice as well.

-Sweat missed a good chunk of practices after having his tonsils removed, but he's now back and gearing up for the season.

"I feel great," Sweat said on Monday. "I am ready, man. Football is football. I am ready to go. I feel good, feel great."

Sweat said he doesn't anticipate having any trouble with the altitude. With a smile, he said he noticed the air was a little different in Colorado when he made a 30-visit to the Broncos leading up to the draft.

"I am going to prepare well for it," Sweat said. "It feels amazing (heading into Year 2). More confident, and ready to go."

Here's Sweat in the locker room after Monday's practice:

-Cushenberry, activated from the team's Physically Unable to Perform list last month as part of his recovery from last year's season-ending Achilles injury, said he feels good as well.

"The past two weeks I've been trying to get my wind back, and get back into football shape," Cushenberry said. "Things have been going well, getting my feet back under me and progressing pretty good."

Here's Cushenberry in the locker room on Monday:

-Latham also conducted several rounds of interviews, even while some of his teammates razzed him about Alabama's loss to Florida State over the weekend.

Latham stayed focused, and was in a good mood.

-I had a chance to talk to defensive tackle Shy Tuttle for the first time since he signed with the Titans last week.

Tuttle, who played at the University of Tennessee, joined the Titans after playing previously with the Saints and Panthers.

"You have to be pro at the end of the day," said Tuttle, who tallied 89 tackles, a half-sack and eight pass breakups in 32 games with the Panthers. "It's all about learning the playbook and learning techniques and stuff. … A bunch of familiar faces (in the locker room)."

-Defensive back Jalyn Armour-Davis, claimed by the Titans after being waived by Ravens, spoke to reporters on Monday as well.

"It's good to be here," Armour-Davis said. "Everyone has been very receptive. It's good to meet my teammates, new coaches, and just take things as they come. Just be blessed."

Armour-Davis (6-1, 200) was a fourth-round pick of the Ravens in the 2022 NFL Draft out of the University of Alabama. He's played in 19 career games over the past three seasons, including seven games in 2024. He's been credited with 20 tackles and two passes defensed in his career, along with four special teams tackles. Armour-Davis led the NFL in pass deflections during the 2025 preseason, when he also tallied an interception.

"I am healthy," Armour-Davis said, "and ready to go."

-The Titans return to the practice field on Wednesday.

-On Tuesday, offensive coordinator Nick Holz, defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson and special teams coordinator John Fassel are scheduled to speak to reporters.

-Titans fans are invited to Titans House Block Party on Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The event will celebrate the new Nissan Stadium Sales Center opening to the general public.

Titans House is located in the Germantown neighborhood of Nashville. The free event marks the first time the venue has been open to the general public, with no appointment needed.

The Titans House Block Party will feature food, drinks, music, and special guests throughout the day. 104.5 the Zone will be broadcasting their shows live on location.

Titans House is located at 601 Taylor Place, Suite 215, Nashville, TN.
