quick-hits-12-31-25

NASHVILLE – The Titans returned to the practice field on Wednesday at Ascension Saint Thomas Sports Park to continue preparations for Sunday's game at the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Here's a look at the developments from the day:

-Tight end Chig Okonkwo is in the final year of his rookie contract.

In March, his contract will expire.

Sure, Okonkwo has thought about these things, and more.

"Yeah, I've thought about that," Okonkwo said. "This could be the last time (in a Titans uniform), and it could have been the last time I played at Nissan (Stadium) on Sunday.

"It's definitely things you think about with the season ending, for sure."

Okonkwo, who a fourth-round pick of the Titans in the 2022 NFL Draft, has also thought about this:

"I want to be here," he said. "My agents know that, so we'll see how it all plays out."

Okonkwo has 54 catches for 558 yards on the season, with two touchdowns.

This past Sunday he recorded three catches for 55 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Okonkwo said on Wednesday he's hopeful to be a part of a turnaround in Tennessee in the future.

"I definitely would want to be a part of the core people that watched this place grow, from where we're at now to a winning organization" Okonkwo said. "I definitely want to be a part of that. I believe in the vision, the things going on. I believe in Cam. I think it would be a great place for me to be in the future."

-Titans guard Peter Skoronski was presented with the Pro Football Writers of America "Good Guy Award" by the Titans media corps in the locker room on Wednesday.

"I gave Dan Brunskill a lot of crap for (winning) this," a smiling Skoronski said of the former Titans lineman. "I just try and treat people the right way, and do the right thing. It's part of the job, and it's back and forth, (the media) make it easy, too."

As for Brunskill potentially giving him grief when he finds out he's the 2025 winner, Skoronski said: "I'm sure he'll give me a lot of (crap) about it. I'll probably just get ahead of it and tell him."

-The Titans placed Bryce Oliver, Femi Oladejo, and edge Ali Gaye on the team's Designated to Return to Practice list on December 17.

This designation opened up a three-week window for all three players to practice with the team, and they will not count against the team's 53-man roster until being activated from Injured Reserve.

All three players practiced on Wednesday, and earlier in the day interim coach Mike McCoy said their status for Sunday will be determined later in the week.
