Biography

PRO: The Titans signed Saahdiq Charles during the 2024 offseason to bolster the experience and competition along the offensive front. The 6-foot-4-inch, 322-pounder has the versatility to play along the offensive line at both guard spots and has even seen NFL action at right tackle. The Louisiana State product won a national championship as the Tigers starting left tackle in 2019 before being selected by the Washington Commanders in the fourth round. Charles arrives in Tennessee having played in 35 games with 18 starts during his first four NFL campaigns (2020-23).

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:
• In 2023, Charles started a career-best 10 games at left guard for the Commanders.

TITANS TIDBITS:
• Charles is a New Orleans native who was displaced because of Hurricane Katrina and was forced to move around from north Louisiana, Houston, Georgia and Montgomery, Ala., before finally settling in Madison, Miss., where he attended high school.
• For the NFL's annual "My Cause My Cleats" campaign, Charles decided to highlight The Greater New Orleans Foundation as his cause. The foundation is committed to influencing positive change through philanthropic efforts to the Greater New Orleans Region, including civic leadership, economic opportunity, the environment, nonprofit leadership & effectiveness, workforce, and disaster response and restoration.

CAREER TRANSACTIONS:
• The New Orleans, La., native was selected by the Washington Commanders in the fourth round (108th overall) of the 2020 NFL Draft.
• Signed by the Titans as an unrestricted free agent on March 15, 2024.

SEASON RECAPS:

2023 (11/10 - Washington): Saw action in 11 games with 10 starts at left guard. Placed on injured reserve on Oct. 24 and missed six games before being designated to return on Dec. 15.

2022 (13/3 - Washington): Played in 13 games with three starts at right guard. Was inactive for three contests before being placed on injured reserve on Jan. 6 and missing the regular season finale.

2021 (10/4 - Washington): Saw action in 10 games with four starts. Started one contest at right tackle, two games at right guard and one contest at left guard. Was inactive for six games, including the first four contests of the season. Spent one game on the reserve/COVID-19 list.

2020 (1/1 - Washington): Started at left guard in one game before being placed on injured reserve on Oct. 24 and missing the final 10 contests. Was inactive for the first five games of season.

COLLEGE:
• Played in 32 games with 28 starts in his three years at Louisiana State. Started 26 times at left tackle, once at right tackle and once at right guard. Opted to forgo senior season and entered his named into the 2020 NFL Draft.
• Helped pave the way for LSU running backs going over the 1,000-yard mark all three seasons he was on the offensive line from 2017-19.
• As a junior (2019), started at left tackle in nine games while helping the Tigers capture the College Football national championship. Was a key member of a Tigers' offensive line that was named the Joe Moore Award winner for the top unit in the nation. Saw action in a total of 653 offensive snaps. Played his best football down the stretch, helping the Tigers to three wins over Top 4 ranked teams in December and January.
• As a sophomore (2018), started 10 games at left tackle, playing a total of 762 snaps.
• As a true freshman (2017), played in all 13 games with nine starts on the offensive line (7 at left tackle, 1 at right tackle, 1 at right guard). Earned a spot on the Freshman All-SEC team. Became the first true freshman to start on the line in a season opener in the modern era. Played a total of 687 snaps
• Majored in sport administration at Louisiana State.

PERSONAL:
• Attended Madison-Ridgeland (Miss.) Academy, where he was considered one of the top players in the state of Mississippi as a senior in 2016.
• Charles was named to the 2016 Dandy Dozen list as one of the top high school senior football players in Mississippi. He was a four-star recruit according to Rivals and Scout.
• In high school, transitioned to the offensive line from the defensive line as a junior.
