Titans-Texans Week 11 Postgame Notes

TEAM NOTES

  • The Titans played their second of four consecutive home games (Weeks 9-13), excluding their Week 10 bye. They continue with contests at Nissan Stadium against the Seattle Seahawks (Nov. 23) and Jacksonville Jaguars (Nov. 30) in the next two weeks.
  • The Titans tied their season high with nine total rookies participating in the game. Four rookies started: safety Kevin Winston Jr., quarterback Cam Ward and wide receivers Elic Ayomanor and Chimere Dike.
  • Kevin Winston Jr. became the sixth Titans rookie to record his second start of 2025. Through the afternoon games of Nov. 16, the Titans, Cleveland Browns (six) and New York Jets (six) were the NFL's only teams to have six or more rookies register more than one start in 2025.
  • On the offense's first drive of the game, the team marched 50 yards on 13 plays, taking 7 minutes and 30 seconds before Joey Slye's field goal provided a 3-0 lead. It was the team's longest opening drive of the season in both time and number of plays.
  • In the fourth quarter, the Titans tied the score at 13-13 inside the final two minutes of regulation after an 11-play, 95-yard touchdown drive. It was the team's longest touchdown drive in yardage since a 95-yard touchdown drive at Houston on Nov. 24, 2024.
  • The 16 points by the Texans were the fewest by a Titans opponent since the Jaguars totaled 10 points on Dec. 8, 2024.
  • The Titans led 3-0 at halftime. It was the first time in 2025 in which they did not allow a score in the first half, marking their first first-half shutout since Dec. 8, 2024 against Jacksonville.
  • The Titans defense limited the Texans offense to four conversions on 13 third-down attempts. The 30.8 percentage was the second best by the Titans defense in 2025 behind the 25.0 percent by the Indianapolis Colts on Sept. 21.
  • The Titans defense allowed only 75 rushing yards, the second-lowest total by a Titans opponent this season behind the Las Vegas Raiders' 68 rushing yards on Oct. 12.
  • The Titans limited the Texans to one touchdown in three red-zone possessions.
  • The Titans defense totaled four sacks in the game. It was the seventh consecutive game for the team with at least two sacks, marking the team's longest such streak within a single season since a nine-game streak in 2013 (Weeks 1-10).
  • The Titans' 22 total sacks from Week 5 to Week 11 ranked third in the NFL through the early afternoon games of Nov. 16.
  • The defense totaled nine passes defensed against the Texans offense. It was the most by the Titans defense since the unit tallied nine passes defensed against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Dec. 12, 2021.

CB JALYN ARMOUR-DAVIS

  • Finished with two tackles, a tackle for loss and a pass defensed.
  • Broke up a pass intended for Nico Collins in the first quarter.
  • Brought down Woody Marks in the first quarter for a loss of one yard and his first tackle for loss of the season.

WR ELIC AYOMANOR

  • Caught two passes for 11 yards.
  • Logged his 10th consecutive game with at least two receptions to begin his career.

CB DARRELL BAKER JR.

  • Tied for first on the team with a career-high 11 tackles.
  • Broke up a pass intended for Xavier Hutchinson on third-and-five in the third quarter.
  • Added a special teams tackle.

LB CODY BARTON

  • Notched five tackles, one sack and a career-high three passes defensed.
  • On the opening series, he helped the Titans defense force a turnover on downs after sacking Davis Mills on fourth down from the Titans' one-yard line. Along with his first sack of the season (4.5 career), Barton recorded three tackles and a pass defensed on the drive.
  • Became the first NFL linebacker in 2025 to have one sack and three passes defensed in a game. The last Titans player to accomplish the feat was linebacker Zach Brown against Jacksonville on Dec. 30, 2012.

S KENDELL BROOKS

  • Led the team with three special teams tackles.

WR CHIMERE DIKE

  • Caught two passes for 14 yards before exiting the contest in the second quarter with an injury.

LB CEDRIC GRAY

  • Tied for the team lead with 11 tackles and added a career-best-tying two passes defensed.
  • Brought down Woody Marks for a loss of three yards in the second quarter for his sixth tackle for loss of the season.
  • Also recovered a Titans fumble on a kickoff return to prevent a turnover.
  • Increased his season total to 98 tackles through 10 games. Since the beginning of the 2000 campaign, Gray's 98 tackles were the most by a Titans player through the team's first 10 games of a season (GSIS tackle statistics). Previously in that span, Stephen Tulloch (96 in 2010) and Azeez Al-Shaair (94 in 2023) had the most tackles for the Titans in the first 10 games of a season.

OLB JAYLEN HARRELL

  • Notched his first career half-sack, combining with Arden Key to bring down Davis Mills on third-and-five in the second quarter.
  • Totaled two tackles.

CB MARCUS HARRIS

  • Recorded a pass defensed, breaking up a pass intended for Christian Kirk in the second quarter.
  • Also notched four tackles.

P JOHNNY HEKKER

  • Punted six times for a 50.8-yard gross average and a 44.5-yard net average with one punt placed inside the 20.
  • Pinned the Texans on their 14-yard line with a 49-yard punt in the third quarter.
  • Launched a 62-yard punt in the fourth quarter.

TE GUNNAR HELM

  • Totaled 29 yards on four receptions.

S AMANI HOOKER

  • Finished third on the defense with nine tackles and added a pass defensed.
  • Broke up a third-down pass intended for Dalton Schultz to force a Houston punt.

WR VAN JEFFERSON

  • Registered three catches for 22 yards and a touchdown.
  • Caught a four-yard touchdown pass late in the fourth quarter to help tie the score at 13-13. It was his first touchdown in a Titans uniform and the 13th touchdown reception of his career.

DE SEBASTIAN JOSEPH-DAY

  • Brought down Woody Marks for a loss of two yards on first-and-goal in the third quarter.
  • Finished with three tackles.

OLB ARDEN KEY

  • Finished with three tackles,1.5 sacks and two tackles for loss in his return to action after missing the previous four games.
  • Combined with Jaylen Harrell to sack Davis Mills on third-and-five in the second quarter.
  • Registered a six-yard sack of Mills in the fourth quarter.
  • Logged his third consecutive individual game with at least a half sack.

WR MASON KINSEY

  • In the third quarter, he converted a third-and-six with a career-long 14-yard reception.

TE CHIG OKONKWO

  • Led the offense with 56 receiving yards on three catches.
  • Hauled in a 16-yard pass in the first quarter.
  • Helped set up a game-tying touchdown late in the fourth quarter with a 39-yard grab. It tied for the fifth-longest catch of his career.

RB TONY POLLARD

  • Carried the ball 10 times for 22 yards and added three receptions for four yards.

WR CALVIN RIDLEY

  • Returned to the lineup after missing three games due to injury.
  • Caught a 13-yard pass on the offense's first play before leaving the game with an injury.

DT JEFFERY SIMMONS

  • Notched three tackles and a sack in his first game action since missing the previous two games with an injury.
  • Joined Ray Childress (nine consecutive seasons), Jurrell Casey (seven), William Fuller (six), and Sean Jones (six) as the only players for the franchise to record five consecutive seasons with at least five sacks since individual sacks became an official statistic in 1982.
  • His 5.5 sacks on the season tied for the league lead (Arik Armstead) among defensive tackles and nose tackles through the early afternoon games of Nov. 16.
  • Increased his career total to 37.0 sacks.

K JOEY SLYE

  • Made both field goal attempts and his only extra point attempt.
  • His 56-yard field goal in the first quarter tied for the fourth-longest field goal in franchise history.
  • In his first 10 games with the team, Sly made three of the seven longest field goals in franchise annals.
  • The 56-yarder was Slye's seventh of the season of at least 50 yards. He joined Stephen Gostkowski (seven in 2020) as the only kickers in franchise history to do so in a single season.
  • Made a 47-yarder in the third quarter.

RB TYJAE SPEARS

  • Totaled 31 yards on a team-high five receptions
  • Converted a third-and-13 with 15 yards on a screen pass in the first quarter.
  • Registered his fifth consecutive game with at least three receptions.

NT T'VONDRE SWEAT

  • Notched two tackles, including a stop for loss.

QB CAM WARD

  • Completed 24 of 37 passes for 194 yards and one touchdown. His passer rating was 87.0.
  • Also rushed for 33 yards on three attempts.
  • During a 95-yard, game-tying drive in the fourth quarter, he completed a 39-yard pass to Chig Okonkwo and a four-yard touchdown pass to Van Jefferson. During the drive, he completed six of eight passes for 63 yards and also scrambled for a 20-yard gain.
  • In the first quarter, he completed six of eight passes for 57 yards (94.3 passer rating).
  • Rushed for a 10-yard gain to convert a third-and-four in the fourth quarter.
  • Became the first rookie quarterback in franchise history to start the first 10 games of a season. Previously, Marcus Mariota held the franchise's longest rookie streak to begin a season with starts in the first five games as a rookie in 2015.

OLB JIHAD WARD

  • Pressured Davis Mills in the first quarter to force third down.

S KEVIN WINSTON JR.

  • Registered his second consecutive start and recorded five tackles.

CB SAMUEL WOMACK III

  • Recorded a season-high two tackles.
