TEAM NOTES
- The Titans returned to Nissan Stadium for their first home game since Sept. 21. Following next week's road game at Indianapolis (Oct. 26, 3:25 p.m. CT), they will not play another road game until Dec. 7.
- Mike McCoy made his debut as interim head coach for the Titans after being named to the position on Monday, Oct. 13.
- Eight rookies played for the Titans against the Patriots, marking the fifth time in seven games that at least eight rookies participated. The rookie starters were quarterback Cam Ward, tight end Gunnar Helm and wide receiver Elic Ayomanor.
- The Titans were penalized three times for 15 yards, with each number representing a season low through seven weeks.
- For the third time in 2025, the Titans offense scored on its opening possession. After a 34-yard series, Joey Slye connected on a 49-yard field goal to open the game.
- For the first time in 2025, the Titans scored on their first two offensive drives. They tallied a field goal and touchdown in their first two series against the Patriots.
- The Titans' 10 points in the first quarter made up their biggest total of 2025 through seven games.
- The Titans starters on the offensive line were left tackle Dan Moore Jr., left guard Peter Skoronski, center Lloyd Cushenberry III, right guard Kevin Zeitler and right tackle JC Latham. It marked the first time in 2025 that the unit started together in consecutive games.
- The Titans totaled more net yards passing (216) than the Patriots (212).
- Tony Pollard (six receptions) and Tyjae Spears (three) accounted for nine total receptions by Titans running backs. That was the highest total in a game by Titans running backs since the position group had nine receptions at Pittsburgh on Dec. 19, 2021.
- The Titans defense combined for a season-high four sacks against the Patriots—one each by T'Vondre Sweat, Xavier Woods, Jihad Ward and Dre'Mont Jones. It was the team's first game with four or more sacks since a four-sack performance at Houston on Nov. 24, 2024.
- The Titans defense was credited with sacks on consecutive plays in the first quarter. Safety Xavier Woods stopped Drake Maye for no gain to register his second career sack, and on the ensuing snap, outside linebacker Jihad Ward dropped Maye for a six-yard loss for his 20th career sack (first of 2025). The defense recorded sacks on back-to-back defensive plays for the first time since Nov. 24, 2024 at Houston.
WR ELIC AYOMANOR
- Posted a pair of catches for 29 yards.
- Picked up 20 yards on a reception in the first quarter.
- Logged his seventh consecutive game to begin his career with at least two receptions.
S QUANDRE DIGGS
- Finished second on the team with seven tackles.
WR CHIMERE DIKE
- Totaled four receptions for 70 yards and a touchdown. He added a 15-yard punt return and 84 yards on three kickoff returns (28.0 avg.).
- Posted four receptions for 70 yards in the first quarter. His 70 receiving yards in the first quarter were the most by a Titans rookie in the first quarter of a game since Justin McCareins had 70 in the first quarter against Tampa Bay on Oct. 14, 2001.
- Scored his first career touchdown in the first quarter on a 38-yard pass from Cam Ward. He set up the scoring drive with a 29-yard kickoff return to the New England 41-yard line.
- In the first seven games of 2025, he totaled 96 receiving yards, 16 rushing yards, 97 punt return yards and 816 kickoff return yards, giving him a league-high total (through early afternoon games of Oct. 19) of 1,025 combined total yards (scrimmage yards + return yards).
- He joined two previous players in the team's "Titans era" (1999 to present) to reach 1,000 combined yards in the team's first seven games of a season: Derrick Mason in 2000 (1,221 yards in the first seven games) and Derrick Henry in 2021 (1,023). In the same span, only three previous NFL rookies reached 1,000 combined yards in the first seven games of a season: Adrian Peterson (1,251 in 2007), Percy Harvin (1,007 in 2009) and Kareem Hunt (1,002 in 2017).
LB CEDRIC GRAY
- Collected 10 tackles to lead the team for the third consecutive week.
- Accumulated 50 total tackles in a four-game span. Since the beginning of the 2000 season, only two Titans previous players produced 50 tackles (GSIS tackle statistics) in a four-game stretch during a single season: Brad Kassell (50 from Dec. 13, 2004 to Jan. 2, 2005) and Azeez Al-Shaair (50 from Oct. 1, 2023 to Oct. 29, 2023; 51 from Oct. 8, 2023 to Nov. 2, 2023).
- Joined Azeez Al-Shaair (2023) as the team's only defenders since the beginning of the 2011 season with 10 or more tackles in four consecutive games.
P JOHNNY HEKKER
- Averaged 40.7 yards (40.7 net) on three punts with two punts placed inside the 20.
- Used a 38-yard punt to pin the Patriots on their seven-yard line in the second quarter, and a 53-yard punt produced the identical result in the third quarter.
TE GUNNAR HELM
- Finished the game with four catches for 36 yards.
- His three receptions for first downs were his most through seven career games.
S AMANI HOOKER
- Tied for third on the team with six tackles.
WR VAN JEFFERSON
- Logged his first start of the season and totaled 41 yards on four receptions.
- In the second quarter, he converted a third-and-three with a 15-yard reception and added a 12-yard grab on the following play.
- His second reception of the game helped him eclipse 2,000 career receiving yards (2,016).
OLB DRE'MONT JONES
- Recorded his second sack of the season (32.5 career), bringing down Drake Maye in the third quarter for a loss of seven yards on third down.
- Totaled three tackles.
DE SEBASTIAN JOSEPH-DAY
- Finished with four tackles and a stop for loss. He dropped running back Rhamondre Stevenson for a loss of two yards in the first quarter.
WR MASON KINSEY
- Made his season debut.
WR TYLER LOCKETT
- Caught two passes for 18 yards.
DL JAMES LYNCH
- Finished with three tackles, including a stop for loss. He dropped running back Rhamondre Stevenson for a loss of a yard in the third quarter.
CB ROGER McCREARY
- Tied for third on the team with six tackles.
RB TONY POLLARD
- Totaled 18 yards on six rushing attempts and added a team-high six receptions for 43 yards.
- Recorded his highest reception total since a seven-catch performance against Philadelphia as a member of the Dallas Cowboys on Dec. 10, 2023.
DT JEFFERY SIMMONS
- Recorded two tackles before exiting the game in the first half with an injury.
K JOEY SLYE
- Made a 49-yard field goal in the first quarter.
- Connected on his second field goal attempt of the game, a 50-yarder, to give the Titans a 13-10 lead in the second quarter. With his sixth field goal of 50-plus yards in 2025, he joined Stephen Gostkowski (seven in 2020), Rob Bironas (six in 2011) and Nick Folk (six in 2024) as the only kickers in franchise history with at least six field goals of 50-plus yards in a season.
- Improved his season totals to 15 field goals in 19 attempts, with 50 total points.
RB TYJAE SPEARS
- Totaled a team-high 22 rushing yards on five attempts and added 18 yards on three receptions.
NT T'VONDRE SWEAT
- Returned to the lineup after missing five games due to injury.
- Tied for third on the defense and tied his career high with six tackles, including a sack.
- Registered his first sack of the season, bringing Drake Maye in the fourth quarter. It was Sweat's second career sack.
QB CAM WARD
- Completed 25 of 34 passes for 255 yards with one touchdown and one interception.
- His 73.5 completion percentage and his 92.2 passer rating were his best marks through seven NFL games.
- Became the team's first rookie quarterback in its "Titans era" (1999 to present) with 25 or more completions in back-to-back games. The last quarterback to accomplish the feat for the Titans was Marcus Mariota, who accomplished the feat in two consecutive games from Sept. 11-18, 2016.
- Found Chimere Dike for a 38-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter.
- Completed 10 of his first 11 passes for 144 yards and one touchdown (149.1 passer rating).
OLB JIHAD WARD
- Recorded his first sack in a Titans uniform when he took down Drake Maye for a six-yard loss on third-and-six in the first quarter. It was the 20th sack of his career. He added a tackle for no gain on the drive.
- Finished with three tackles.
S KEVIN WINSTON JR.
- Tallied a quarterback hit, pressuring Drake Maye into an incomplete pass in the fourth quarter.
- Added a special teams tackle.
S XAVIER WOODS
- Tallied four tackles and a sack.
- In the first quarter, he stopped Drake Maye for no gain to register his second career sack. His only other sack was on Oct. 31, 2021 as a member of the Minnesota Vikings.
