Game Preview: Titans Host Eagles in Week 2

NASHVILLE — This week, the Tennessee Titans (0-1) play their second consecutive home game to start the season, welcoming the Philadelphia Eagles (1-0) to Nashville for the first time since 2018. Kickoff at Nissan Stadium is scheduled for noon CDT on Sunday, Sept. 20.

This is only the fourth time the Eagles have played at Nissan Stadium since the venue opened in 1999. In the 2018 meeting, the Titans won 26-23 in overtime. Four years later, the Eagles defeated the Titans in Philadelphia to increase their series lead to 8-5.

The last time the Titans hosted back-to-back contests to start a season was 2010, when the Oakland Raiders and Pittsburgh Steelers visited.

THE BROADCAST

The contest will be regionally televised on FOX, including Nashville affiliate WZTV FOX 17, and streamed on FOX One in the Nashville market. The broadcast team includes play-by-play announcer Adam Amin, analyst Drew Brees and reporter Kristina Pink.

TITANS LOOK TO BOUNCE BACK IN WEEK 2

Last week inaugurated Robert Saleh's tenure as the 22nd head coach in Titans/Oilers history. Hosting the New York Jets in a noon start with a 90-degree kickoff and temperatures rising through the afternoon, the Titans scored a field goal on their opening drive and added a touchdown late in the fourth quarter. They were kept off the scoreboard for the rest of the day, and the Jets rushed for 152 yards and two touchdowns to prevail by a final score of 23-10.

Titans quarterback Cam Ward began his second NFL season with 19-of-32 passing for 140 yards, including an 11-yard touchdown pass to second-year wide receiver Elic Ayomanor.

On the other side of the ball, the Titans defense was led by rookie linebacker Anthony Hill Jr., a second-round pick who started in his NFL debut. With 16 total tackles and two passes defensed, he became the first NFL rookie to hit those benchmarks in a game since at least 2000, and in the same span, he was the only NFL player, regardless of experience, to do so in Week 1.

THE EAGLES

Head coach Nick Sirianni is in his sixth campaign leading the Eagles. Through 2025, his .694 career winning percentage (59-26) ranked third among all NFL head coaches in the Super Bowl era. He became the first NFL head coach to earn five postseason appearances with three division crowns, two conference titles and a Super Bowl victory in the first five years of his career.

Quarterback Jalen Hurts is in his seventh NFL season since the Eagles took him in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He is a three-time Pro Bowl selection (2022, 2023, 2025), an Associated Press All-Pro (2022) and a Super Bowl MVP (LIX). In 2025, he started 16 games, passing for 25 touchdowns with six interceptions and adding eight rushing touchdowns.

Last week, the Eagles began the season with a 24-22 victory against the NFC East rival Washington Commanders at Lincoln Financial Field. Hurts passed for three touchdowns, including two touchdown tosses to tight end Dallas Goedert.
