NASHVILLE — The Tennessee Titans (2-0) conclude the preseason this week with a home date against the Chicago Bears (1-1). Kickoff at Nissan Stadium (capacity 69,143) is scheduled for 5 p.m. CDT on Saturday, Aug. 29.

Two days prior to the game, the Titans and Bears are scheduled to take part in a joint practice at Vanderbilt Health Football Center (460 Great Circle Road).  The session is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. CDT on Thursday, Aug. 27. The Titans already participated in combined practices with the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks, respectively, heading into their first two preseason matchups.

This week marks the first time quarterbacks Caleb Williams and Cam Ward are scheduled to share an NFL field. In 2024, the Bears made Williams the first-overall NFL draft pick, and one year later, the Titans did the same with Ward. The last time Williams and Ward were on opposite sidelines was Oct. 8, 2022, when Ward's Washington State Cougars visited Williams and the USC Trojans.

THE BROADCAST

This week's contest will be televised regionally on the Titans Preseason TV Network, including flagship WKRN-News 2 in Nashville. Play-by-play announcer Paul Burmeister and analyst Charles Davis will call the action, and Cory Curtis will report from the sidelines. Additionally, the broadcast will be live on NFL Network.

The Titans Radio Network and Nashville flagship 104.5 The Zone carry all Titans games across the Mid-South with play-by-play announcer Taylor Zarzour, analyst Ramon Foster, executive producer Rhett Bryan, gameday host Will Boling, and rotating sideline reporters Kevin DysonBrad HopkinsBen Jones,Marc Mariani and Delanie Walker.

TITANS COME FROM BEHIND TO DEFEAT SEAHAWKS

The Titans spent Week 2 of the preseason at home against the reigning Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks. After falling behind 16-3 in the first quarter, they scored the game's final 16 points to complete a 19-16 comeback win. Running back D'Ernest Johnson scored the game-winning touchdown on a two-yard run with less than six minutes remaining in the fourth quarter.

Ward was on the field for the offense's first three drives. He completed eight of 12 passes for 69 yards.

Defensively, second-round rookie linebacker Anthony Hill Jr. led the team with seven tackles and also had an interception. He became the NFL's first rookie in 2026 to reach both of those marks in a preseason game.

ROSTER CUTS LOOM

After hosting the final game of the NFL's 2026 preseason, the Titans will have limited time before roster cuts are due. All NFL teams are required to trim their rosters from 91 players (including one designated international player) to a maximum of 53 players by 5 p.m. CDT on Sunday, Aug. 30. Players on reserve lists, such as reserve/injured, do not count against the 53-player limit. A day later, on Aug. 31, clubs may establish practice squads of up to 17 players, including one international player.

THE BEARS

In their first year under head coach Ben Johnson, the Bears went 11-6 during the 2025 regular season and won the NFC North. They advanced to the divisional round of the playoffs before falling to the Los Angeles Rams.

Chicago led the NFL by forcing 33 turnovers in 2025, including a league-best 23 interceptions. The last time a team forced that many takeaways was 2021, when the Dallas Cowboys had 34.

Williams has not missed a regular season or postseason start at quarterback since he entered the NFL in 2024. In 2025, he ranked seventh in the NFL with 3,942 passing yards, and his 27 touchdown passes placed sixth.

Two weeks ago, the Bears won their first preseason game at home against Cleveland, 34-10, before traveling to Cincinnati last week to face the Bengals. Williams saw his first action of the preseason at Cincinnati, completing two of his five attempts for 28 yards. The Bengals prevailed by a final score of 27-9.
