NASHVILLE — Following consecutive road games, the Tennessee Titans (0-4) return home this Sunday to meet the Houston Texans (0-4) in their first divisional clash of 2026. Kickoff at Nissan Stadium is scheduled for noon CDT on Oct. 11.

This is the 49th all-time meeting in a rivalry that is in its 25th season since the Texans entered the NFL and the AFC South was launched in 2002. The series is even at 24-24, including a 12-12 split in games at Tennessee and Houston. The Texans have won the past three contests.

Sunday also marks the Titans' annual Crucial Catch game. Each NFL team designates one game each season to raise awareness for early cancer detection and risk reduction. The Titans-Texans game will feature on-field and in-stadium Crucial Catch elements to honor survivors and those currently battling cancer.

LAST WEEK AT BALTIMORE

The Titans traveled to Baltimore last week to face the Ravens. Trailing 24-10 late in the fourth quarter, second-year quarterback Cam Ward connected with wide receiver Wan'Dale Robinson for a three-yard touchdown pass and then found tight end Gunnar Helm in the end zone for a two-point conversion. However, the ensuing onside kick was recovered by the Ravens to secure their 24-18 victory.

Rookie wide receiver Carnell Tate was on the other end of nine completions by Ward, totaling 145 yards. Tate's yardage total was the most by any Titans player in a game since A.J. Brown's 145 against San Francisco on Dec. 23, 2021, and Tate had the most receiving yards by a Titans rookie since Brown's 153 at Oakland on Dec. 8, 2019. Additionally, Tate became the first Titans rookie with nine or more receptions in a game since Kendall Wright had nine catches at Minnesota on Oct. 7, 2012.

On defense, the Titans limited the Ravens to a pair of third-down conversions on 10 attempts. Defensive end Jermaine Johnson II had a sack and a team-high two tackles for loss, while defensive end Jacob Martin and cornerback Marcus Harris also shared a sack.

THE TEXANS

The Texans were at home against the Dallas Cowboys last week. In a game that featured three lead changes in the fourth quarter, the Cowboys scored on a 12-yard touchdown pass with 40 seconds on the clock to win 34-30.

DeMeco Ryans is in his fourth season as Houston's head coach after being named to the role in 2023. His team not only went to the playoffs but also advanced to the Divisional Round in each of his first three campaigns at the helm. In 2025, the Texans went 12-5 in the regular season and tied a franchise record for wins.

Along with Ryans, quarterback C.J. Stroud is in his fourth season with the club after being chosen with the second overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. In 2026, Stroud has passed for 1,141 passing yards and five touchdowns without throwing an interception. He had 347 yards and two touchdowns passing last week against Dallas.
