NASHVILLE – The Titans returned to the practice field on Thursday at Vanderbilt Health Football Center to continue preparations for Sunday's game vs the Philadelphia Eagles.
Here's a look at today's developments:
-Titans running back Tony Pollard, like everyone else on the team, is ready to play again.
"Very anxious, especially not being satisfied with what we put there," Pollard said of the opener. "We are a much better team than what we showed and looking forward to (playing again)."
Pollard carried the ball just seven times for 35 yards in the opener, and the Titans had just 68 yards on the ground against the Jets.
Earlier this week, Titans coach Robert Saleh stressed the importance of establishing the run more against the Eagles, who allowed 132 rushing yards in their opener against the Commanders.
Pollard thinks it's important for a number of reasons.
Pollard had 96 scrimmage yards (59 rush, 37 rec.) in his last game vs the Eagles (12/10/2023 w/Dallas).
"Just to get guys in a rhythm, to have a few more touches on the ground," Pollard said. "Just to get things going on offense, and have some explosive (plays).
"(The Eagles) do a great job making plays – they have an opportunistic defense, and guys who can hunt the ball, and guys who can get the ball back for their offense."
-Titans linebacker Cedric Gray remains in the concussion protocol, but was back on the practice field Thursday.
Gray, who missed the season opener, remains in the concussion protocol but he is edging closer to returning.
Gray was listed as a full participant in Wednesday's session.
-Titans linebacker James Williams Sr. is practicing in a yellow non-contact jersey again on Thursday, as he works through an elbow strain. Williams was listed as limited on Thursday's Injury Report.
-Titans linebacker Mohamoud Diabate had surgery for a thumb fracture, and he has already been ruled OUT for Sunday's game.
-The Titans coordinators – OC Brian Daboll, DC Gus Bradley and ST John Fassell – all spoke to reporters on Thursday.
