NASHVILLE — The Tennessee Titans (0-3) travel to play the Houston Texans (0-3) this week, encountering their second consecutive division rival while also launching a three-game road swing. Kickoff at NRG Stadium (capacity 71,995) is scheduled for 12 p.m. CDT on Sunday, Sept. 28.
The two teams last met in the 2024 regular season finale at Nissan Stadium. The Texans, who had already clinched the AFC South, won 23-14 to avenge the Titans' 32-27 victory at NRG Stadium in Week 12. In 46 all-time battles, the Titans lead the series 24-22.

This week's contest will be regionally televised on CBS, including Nashville affiliate WTVF NewsChannel 5, as well as on Paramount+ in the Nashville market. The broadcast team includes play-by-play announcer Beth Mowins, analyst Ross Tucker and reporter Amanda Balionis.

WARD, TITANS LOOKING FOR DIVISIONAL WIN
The Titans hosted the Indianapolis Colts last week. Rookie quarterback Cam Ward completed 23-of-38 passes for 219 yards and a touchdown, and running back Tony Pollard accounted for the team's other touchdown. However, Colts running back Jonathan Taylor rushed for 102 yards and three scores, leading Indianapolis to a 40-21 win.
Ward joined Marcus Mariota (2015) as the franchise's only rookie quarterbacks to start each of the team's first three games of a season. For the second consecutive week, he found fourth-round rookie wide receiver Elic Ayomanor for a touchdown, this time on an eight-yard pass on fourth-and-goal. The last occasion in which a Titans rookie quarterback and rookie wide receiver connected for multiple touchdown passes in a season was 2015 (Mariota and Dorial Green-Beckham).
Ayomanor, the 136th overall draft pick in 2025, has 10 receptions for 107 yards and two touchdowns. Among all rookie wide receivers this season, he ranks third in receiving yards, is tied for third in receptions, and is tied for second in touchdown catches.
Kicker Joey Slye made field goals of 57 and 42 yards—the second consecutive week he made a 57-yarder. The only field goal in franchise history from a longer distance was 60 yards by Rob Bironas in 2006. Slye, who previously made four field goals in each of the first two games, ranks second in the NFL with 10 field goals through three weeks.
Following this week's game, the Titans will be on the road for two more weeks. They play at Arizona on Oct. 5, followed by the franchise's first game at Las Vegas on Oct. 12.
THE TEXANS
Head coach DeMeco Ryans, who was hired to his current post in 2023, led Houston to an AFC South title in each of his first two campaigns. The Texans had identical 10-7 records in 2023 and 2024, followed by finishes in the divisional round on both occasions.
Along with Ryans, quarterback C.J. Stroud is entering his third season with the club. He was drafted with the second overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, and since then, he has passed for 8,434 yards and 45 touchdowns with 20 interceptions.
In Week 3, the Texans visited Jacksonville, where they lost 17-10 to the Jaguars. After Texans wideout Nico Collins caught a 50-yard touchdown pass from Stroud to help tie the game at 10-10 in the fourth quarter, Jaguars running back Travis Etienne scored the game-winning touchdown with less than two minutes remaining.
