Quick Hits on the Titans From Wednesday of Bengals Week

NASHVILLE – The Titans returned to the practice field on Wednesday to continue preparations for Sunday's game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Here's a look at the developments of the day, in quick-hitting fashion:

-Peter Skoronski thought he had food poisoning.

As things turned out, the Titans rookie guard needed an emergency appendectomy.

Now, Skoronski is working his way back to better health after having the procedure on his ruptured appendix on September 16.

"(It) sucked a lot. A couple of rough days there," Skoronski said on Wednesday. "But I've definitely made a ton of strides since then. So, I'm happy with that and now I'm just progressing.

"I'm basically taking it day by day."

After starting the first game of the season in New Orleans, Skoronski has been sidelined the past two games because of the procedure.

Skoronski, who lost some weight during the process, said he's now working to build back his stamina and strength before returning. He's been cleared to begin lifting weights again.

Skoronski did not practice on Wednesday.

"I couldn't really give any (timetable) right now," Skoronski said of his potential return date. "I am just trusting everybody, our training staff, and trust in their plan and just do what I can do, what I can handle as I progress.

"It is definitely frustrating. As a young guy you want to get as many live (reps) as you can, and missing games like this sucks for me. So that's definitely frustrating, because you want to be on the field as soon as possible. But you also don't want to be out there in a position where you can't do the right thing for your team, perform for your team. So, it's just trying to find that balance. … I want to be back at soon as possible."

-Defensive lineman Teair Tart (knee) did not practice on Wednesday.

-Defensive back Elijah Molden (hamstring) did not practice on Wednesday.

-Linebacker Luke Gifford (hamstring) did not practice on Wednesday.

-Receiver Treylon Burks (knee) was limited.

-Outside linebacker Harold Landry (hamstring) was limited.

-Tight end Josh Whyle (illness) was limited.

-Safety Dane Cruikshank, who rejoined the team as a member of the practice squad earlier this week, was back on the practice field. Cruikshank has been assigned No.29, although he was in scout team No.33 on Wednesday.

-Receiver Shi Smith, signed to the practice squad on Tuesday, practiced with the team for the first time. Smith has been assigned No.80, although he was in scout team No.16 on Wednesday.

-The Bengals release their initial Injury Report on Wednesday, and it looked like this: WR Charlie Jones (thumb) and TE Irv Smith (hamstring) did not practice. QB Joe Burrow (calf) was listed full participant. The Bengals held a walk-through, so their report was an estimate.

-The Titans are scheduled to practice again on Thursday and Friday of this week before holding a walk-through on Saturday morning, ahead of Sunday's game at Nissan Stadium.
