CASSEL STARTS:WithMarcus Mariotareceiving the night off, veteranMatt Cassel** notched his first start of the preseason at quarterback.  His final numbers included three completions for 35 yards on four attempts.  In three preseason appearances, he was 15-of-24 for 185 yards and a passer rating of 86.3.

FLUELLEN SHINES: David Fluellen started at running back and led the team with 74 rushing yards on 19 carries.  Fluellen's preseason totals included 33 carries for a team-high 161 yards and one touchdown.  He finished third in the NFL in rushing yards during the preseason behind only Carolina's Cameron Artis-Payne (180 rushing yards) and Pittsburgh's Terrell Watson (173).

STARTING OFFENSIVE LINE: The starters along the offensive line were left tackle Dennis Kelly, left guard Josue Matias, center Tim Lelito, right guard Corey Levin and right tackle Tyler Marz.  The group played together into the fourth quarter.

PRESEASON OFFENSIVE LEADERS: The Titans statistical leaders for the preseason included quarterback Alex Tanney (378 passing yards), running back David Fluellen (161 rushing yards), wide receiver Tre McBride (nine receptions) and wide receiver Taywan Taylor (145 receiving yards).

DODD RECORDS TAKEAWAY: Early in the second quarter, outside linebacker Kevin Dodd helped end a Kansas City threat with a takeaway.  With the Chiefs on the Tennessee eight-yard line, quarterback Patrick Mahomes mishandled the snap, and Dodd pounced on the ball to record the team's fourth defensive fumble recovery of the preseason.

TACKLE LEADERS: Against the Chiefs, linebacker Nate Palmer and defensive back Demontre Hurst tied for the team lead with seven tackles.  However, the Titans' tackle leader for the preseason was rookie linebacker Jayon Brown.  Brown tallied three stops at Kansas City and 13 total in four preseason games.

THIRD DOWN DEFENSE: The Titans defense held the Chiefs offense to a preseason low of 33 percent on third down (four of 12).

SUCCCOP MAKES TWO: Kicker Ryan Succop returned to Kansas City, where he spent the first five seasons of his career, and made both of his field goal attempts.  He made a 40-yard field goal in the first quarter and a 48-yard field goal in the third quarter.

BUSY DAY FOR KERN: Brett Kern tied his preseason high with eight punts.  He averaged 50.5 yards per punt (35.5 net average) with a pair of punts placed inside the 20.

STARTERS SIT: Nearly all of the Titans offensive and defensive starters were held out of action for the team's fourth and final preseason game.  The only starters against the Chiefs who previously started a game during this preseason were cornerbacks Adoree' Jackson and LeShaun Sims and defensive linemen DaQuan Jones, Sylvester Williams and Austin Johnson.

EVERYBODY PLAYS: The Titans went into the Kansas City game with a roster of 87 players.  By the end of the evening, every healthy player on the roster had played in at least one preseason contest.

CAPTAINS: The three captains for the preseason finale were quarterback Matt Cassel, safety Da'Norris Searcy and linebacker Daren Bates.
