It's day three of Pro Bowl 2010, and we've had a day full of excitement preparing for Sunday's big game while also getting to know the fans in the city. After breakfast, we began with a four hour practice, drilling choreography as well as material for tomorrow's bathing suit fashion show. Once practice was complete, we ventured to Jackson Memorial Childrens Hospital and visited children and their families.
We then went to Homestead Air Reserve base and fire department; here, we greeted the troops, signed posters, and just tried to lighten their hearts mere hours before they depart to Haiti to help in the recovery. What was interesting is that this particular base is actually bringing refugees IN to their location from the disaster. In fact, we actually witnessed one of the airplanes landing and unloading people who were brand new into the States. We also had the opportunity to meet some of the refugees that were already at the base when we arrived; it definitely put into perspective the job of the Pro Bowl Cheerleader.
Soon, it was time for a dinner and a little dancing. We visited the neighboring hotel with an exclusive invite which offered food and desserts from around the globe and a social gathering Miami style-complete with music and walk up heaters, if needed, all outside under the stars. However fun, we couldn't stay for long because practice was scheduled for 9:30pm, so it was back to the hotel to change and prepare to finalize the details for tomorrow's fashion show.
