Biography

• Carnell's star at Ohio State continued to rise for three years while he was a member of the team before declaring for the 2026 NFL Draft following the 2025 season, his third with the program

• He played in 39 games between 2023-25, started 26 and finished his Ohio State career with 121 receptions for 1,872 yards and 14 touchdowns

• He ranks 18th in both receptions and yards at Ohio State and 26th in touchdowns

• Had a reception in 37 of the 39 games in which he played

• Despite missing three games in 2025 because of injury, Tate was a force on the playing fi eld with 51 receptions for 875 yards, a 17.2 yards-per reception average with nine touchdowns

• He had four 100-yard receiving games topped by a career-high 183 yards off another career-best nine catches against Minnesota

• He averaged 32.5 yards per touchdown reception with five such scores over 40 yards

• Four major organizations – the American Football Coaches Association, The Sporting News, Associated Press and On3 – named him a second-team All-American as a junior

• Was named first-team all-Big Ten by both the coaches and the media

• Tate was also a force off the fi eld in 2025: he was a first-team Academic All-American as selected by the College Sports Communicators with a 3.50 grade point average while majoring in sport industry

• Playing alongside first-round NFL Draft pick Emeka Egbuka and freshman sensation Jeremiah Smith, Tate caught 52 passes for 733 yards and four touchdowns during the championship season

• Had a memorable and personal homecoming in the Northwestern game at Wrigley Field with four catches for 52 yards and two touchdowns

• Played in all 13 games as a true freshman in 2023 and started in the Goodyear Cotton Bowl

• Caught a pass in his first game as a Buckeye - for 15 yards vs. Indiana - and proceeded to catch passes in 11 of the 13 games he played in

• Finished his freshman campaign with 18 receptions for 264 yards and one touchdown

• His freshman season totals eclipsed the frosh year totals of recent Ohio State greats: Chris Olave (12 receptions in 2018), Marvin Harrison Jr. (11 in 2021), Curtis Samuel (11 in 2014)and Jaxon Smith-Njigba (10 in 2020).

• Had three receptions for 79 yards with a long gain of 55 yards in the win over Purdue

• Scored his first collegiate touchdown vs. Western Kentucky, a 28-yard reception from Devin Brown

• A Big Ten Conference Distinguished Scholar, a two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree and a two-time OSU Scholar-Athlete
