TEAM NOTES
- The Titans began their 28th and final season in the current Nissan Stadium. The new Nissan Stadium is scheduled to open in 2027.
- The temperature at kickoff was 90 degrees, making it the second-hottest game for the team—home or away—in the franchise's "Titans era," which began in 1999. The only higher kickoff temperature was 93 degrees at Nissan Stadium on Sept. 15, 2019, when the Titans played the Indianapolis Colts. Against the Jets, the relative humidity was 57 percent, and the heat index at kickoff was 98 degrees.
- The Titans had 10 players register starts in their debut with the team: defensive ends Jermaine Johnson II and Jacob Martin; defensive lineman John Franklin-Myers; rookie linebacker Anthony Hill Jr.; cornerbacks Alontae Taylor and Cor'Dale Flott; tight end Daniel Bellinger; rookie wide receiver Carnell Tate; center Austin Schlottmann; and rookie right guard Fernando Carmona Jr.
- For the third time since 1999, the Titans had three rookies in the starting lineup in a season opener. On offense, first-round wide receiver Carnell Tate and fifth-round right guard Fernando Carmona Jr. started, and on defense, second-round linebacker Anthony Hill Jr. started. Since 1999, the only other Week 1 Titans games with three or more rookie starters occurred in 2016 (three) and 2025 (four).
- The Titans offense's first possession of the season was a 12-play, 41-yard drive in the first quarter that ended with a 42-yard field goal by Joey Slye.
- On the offense's final possession, the unit went on a nine-play, 65-yard drive, culminating in an 11-yard touchdown pass from Cam Ward to Elic Ayomanor.
WR ELIC AYOMANOR
- Hauled in an 11-yard strike from Cam Ward for a touchdown in the fourth quarter. It was his fifth career touchdown catch.
TE DANIEL BELLINGER
- Started at tight end in his Titans debut.
- Finished with one reception for seven yards.
G FERNANDO CARMONA JR.
- Started at guard in his NFL debut.
- Became the first Titans rookie offensive lineman during the franchise's "Titans era" (since 1999) to be drafted in the fourth round or later and start Week 1 of his rookie season. Carmona was a fifth-round pick (142nd overall) in the 2026 NFL Draft.
WR CHIMERE DIKE
- Recorded one reception for seven yards.
- Also returned three kickoffs for 62 yards.
CB COR'DALE FLOTT
- Started in his Titans debut and recorded three tackles.
DL JOHN FRANKLIN-MYERS
- Started in his Titans debut and recorded three tackles.
CB MARCUS HARRIS
- Started and tied his career high with seven tackles.
TE GUNNAR HELM
- Started at tight end.
- Recorded his first reception of the season in the first quarter. It marked his 17th consecutive individual game recording a reception to begin his career.
- Finished with four receptions for 28 yards.
LB ANTHONY HILL JR.
- Started in his NFL debut.
- Led the defense with 16 total tackles and two passes defensed.
- Became the first NFL rookie with 16 tackles and two passes defensed in a game since at least 2000.
- Became the first NFL player with 16 tackles and two passes defensed in a Week 1 game since at least 2000.
- Became the first NFL player with 16 tackles and two passes defensed in a game since Dec. 10, 2023, when Chicago Bears safety Jaquan Brisker had 17 stops and two passes defensed against Detroit.
- Became the first Titans rookie to have two or more passes defensed in his first game action since Adoree' Jackson had two against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sept. 10, 2017.
- In the first half, he totaled 11 tackles and two passes defensed, becoming the first NFL player to have at least 10 tackles and two passes defensed in any first half since Dec. 24, 2006, when Colts cornerback Marlin Jackson had 12 tackles and two passes defensed in the first half against Houston.
- His 11 tackles in the first half were the most by a Titans rookie in his debut first half since at least 2000 (according to Tru Media).
- Credited with a tackle of running back Breece Hall on the first play of the game from scrimmage, which also was his first career play.
- In the first quarter, he was credited with his first career pass defensed on a pass intended for tight end Mason Taylor.
- In the second quarter, he was credited with a pass defensed on third down on a pass intended for running back Braelon Allen, resulting in the Jets settling for a field goal.

- Tied for second on the team with 10 tackles, including a tackle for loss.

- Started in his Titans debut and notched a pair of tackles.
DE JACOB MARTIN
- Started in his Titans debut.
DE OLUWAFEMI OLADEJO
- Totaled three tackles, including a tackle for loss.
- Credited with an eight-yard tackle for loss on a reception by tight end Mason Taylor in the second quarter.
RB TONY POLLARD
- Started at running back.
- Rushed seven times for 35 yards.
CB MICAH ROBINSON
- Led the team with two special teams tackles. It was his second career game with multiple special teams tackles.
WR WAN'DALE ROBINSON
- Started at wide receiver in his Titans debut.
- Led the team with five receptions for 38 yards.
- Extended his streak to 43 consecutive individual games with at least one reception.
- Moved past the 2,500 career receiving yards mark for his career (2,503).
C AUSTIN SCHLOTTMANN
- Started at center in his Titans debut.
DT JEFFERY SIMMONS
- Appeared in his 100th career game (regular season). His 100 career games played with the Titans are the most among all current players on the team.
- Registered four tackles.
G PETER SKORONSKI
- Started at guard, extending his team-best active streak of 48 consecutive starts.
K JOEY SLYE
- Connected on a 42-yard field goal in the first quarter to give Tennessee its first points of the contest.
RB TYJAE SPEARS
- Finished with 24 yards from scrimmage on three carries (12 yards) and two receptions (12 yards).
WR CARNELL TATE
- Started at wide receiver in his NFL debut.
- Recorded his first professional reception on a 12-yard pass from Cam Ward in the first quarter.
- Tied for the team lead with 38 receiving yards on four catches.
CB ALONTAE TAYLOR
- Started in his Titans debut and notched six tackles.
P TOMMY TOWNSEND
- Punted seven times for a 46.6-yard average with one punt inside the 20 in his Titans debut.
S KEVIN WINSTON JR.
- Tied for second on the team with 10 tackles.
QB CAM WARD
- Started at quarterback, joining Marcus Mariota (2015-16) as the only quarterbacks in franchise history to start Week 1 in each of their first two NFL seasons.
- Finished with 140 yards on 19-of-32 passing. Added four rushes for 21 yards.
Connected with Elic Ayomanor for an 11-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter.
