NASHVILLE – The Titans returned to the practice field on Thursday at Ascension Saint Thomas Sports Park to continue preparations for Sunday's game vs the Houston Texans.

Here's a look at the developments from the day:

-Defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons is tired of watching.

He's ready to get back to action, and appears to be edging closer to returning after taking part in Thursday's practice for the first time suffering a hamstring injury in the team's November 19 game against the Patriots.

"Missing two games, and then the bye week, I'm itching to get back out there," Simmons said. "The training staff is doing a hell of a job of getting me back healthy. … Today it felt good to be back out there."

Simmons was listed as a limited participant on the team's Injury Report on Thursday.

In seven games this season, Simmons has recorded 23 quarterback pressures and 4.5 sacks.

"It always sucks to be injured, and not being out there with your teammates," Simmons said. "It felt great just to be out there with the guys today, moving around a little bit.

"Hopefully this week will continue to go like I plan to go and hopefully I can get back out there."

-The Titans on Monday moved running back Kalel Mullings and safety Mike Brown to the team's Designated to Return to Practice list.

This designation opened up a three-week window for Mullings and Brown to practice with the team, and they will not count against the team's 53-man roster until being activated from Injured Reserve.

Both players practiced again on Thursday. Brown was listed as a full participant while Mullings was listed as limited.
