NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Titans RB DeMarco Murray is a candidate for the FedEx Ground NFL Player of the Week after rushing for 123 yards on 21 carries (5.9 avg.) and a touchdown in a 36-22 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday Night Football.
At the season's halfway point, Murray has 756 yards and six touchdowns on the ground, and 28 catches for 197 yards and two more scored. He's eclipsed the 100-yard mark in four of the last six games, and he's on pace to finish with 1,512 rushing yards.
Other candidates for Week 8 NFL action include Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart, who rushed for 95 yards on 25 carries (3.8 avg.) and 2 touchdowns in a 30-20 win over the Arizona Cardinals, and Chicago Bears RB Jordan Howard, who ran for 153 yards and a touchdown in a 20-10 win over the Minnesota Vikings.
