NASHVILLE – Another round of OTAs is now in the books.

Next up for the Titans: A three-day minicamp.

It's going to be a busy week.

But first, the latest Titans mailbag…

Peter Fairbank from Mystic, Connecticut
Question:
How is Treylon Burks looking in early work?

Jim: Hey Peter. Treylon has been one of the biggest standouts in OTAs. He's in better shape, looks faster, and he's been consistent. I like his attitude, and his approach. I think he's going to make a big jump in 2023 – but he has to stay healthy.

Hunter Johnson from McMinnville, Tennessee
Question:
Hey Jim, Hunter here. I don't know how good we will be this year. I think that the titans will be 7-10. What do you think the titans record will be? Let's go TITAN UP!!!!!!

Jim: Hi Hunter. Appreciate the email, but I don't do predictions. Working for the team now, if I predicted 12-5 I'd be called a homer, and if I predicted 5-12 folks would say: Heck, this guy thinks they'll stink and he works for the team. I am looking forward to seeing how it goes. Training camp starts next month.

Miller Hile from Nashville, Tennessee
Question:
Hello, I wasn't huge about Will Levis at first, but I have watched some film now and think he is a franchise qb! Do u think he will start this year? I think he should!!

Jim: Man, that was a quick turnaround for you, Miller. But no, I think Ryan Tannehill will start.

Jason Vesely from Mosinee, Wisconsin
Question:
What many put on paper, thinking this year is going to be a rebuilding year, where 7-10 is a projected record many of the experts have of the Titans, I think this year could look more of a retooling year, where they'll be competitive showing improvement in some areas and some other areas that still need work, the talent is there to flip-flop their record 10-7 from 7-10, 10-7 would put them in contention for the wild card, maybe the division title. I think Ran Carthon will eventually make a super bowl team out of this within 5 years, somewhere about his third year into it, next year with all that salary cap room he could lay a pretty good foundation for it his second year into it, this year being his first year he went out starting to get some of the pieces, he'll need more, but he'll get them. I think he and Mike Vrabel have a blueprint of how to build it, it's all a matter of how it all unfolds.

Jim: Looks like prediction szn is under way…

Jason Petty from Lebanon, Tennessee
Question
: Jim, I hope all is well with you and you've found time to rest & recuperate after the long week of work & the draft. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE tell me that Ran & Coach Vrabel are going to do MUCH better at finding more offensive weapons??? Yeah we drafted linemen & tight ends. But unless we have 2 or 3 Travis Kelce type tight ends we will be so predictable on offense. So you see the team getting a playmaker to catch the ball? Sorry for the rant, but I want to know Henry isn't the only possible option.

Jim: Unfortunately, Jason, the Chiefs have the on Travis Kelce, and 2 or 3 others like him are not floating around. With that said, the Titans have some good, young prospects they're counting on. I talked about Treylon Burks earlier. Another second-year player, tight end Chig Okonkwo, is having a nice offseason a well. The team has other receivers and tight ends who are capable of making plays, but they'll have to prove it.

Brian Arden from Knoxville, Tennessee
Question:
Our family is flying to Miami in week 14 to watch the Titans play the Dolphins (already purchased flights). The best I can tell, the Titans Monday night game cannot be flexed to Thursday night as only Sunday afternoon games are eligible to be flexed into Thursday night. It could however, be flexed to a Sunday afternoon game per the previously announced flexing rules.
Am I reading the rules correctly? So either Monday night or Sunday afternoon game for Titans in Miami?

Jim: Yes, Brian, you are correct – it could be moved to Sunday.
I asked someone about it, and that person reminded me that Monday night game date is double-booked with the Titans-Dolphins on ESPN and Packers/Giants on ABC.
So, not sure if that makes it less likely they would move the Titans game or not, since there will be another game on at the same time on another Disney network. It's TBD, I guess, but I'm hoping it stays on Monday night.

Paul Salinas from Omaha, Nebraska
Question:
Real quick question: What's up with Jacob Copeland WR? He almost never drops a pass.

Jim: Hi Paul. Well, Jacob is out here competing, wearing No. 19 and competing with 11 other receivers on workouts. Copeland was solid at Maryland, and he's off to a good start.

Have a great weekend everyone!
