NASHVILLE – Who's ready for the NFL Draft?
Yeah, me too.
We're now less than two weeks away.
The questions – and opinions – keep piling up in the mailbag.
Let's dive into this weekend's mailbag to get the latest buzz…

Rick Davidson from Lone Oak, Kentucky
Question: Hey Jim. We've done fairly well in free agency, no home runs, but a triple and some doubles. Defense definitely got better. Wan'Dale Robinson is a plus, but the offense needs more weapons. I think Jeremiyah Love has probably moved up the list to #1 on our board, though Fano, out of Utah, would be a great addition to the offensive line. I would go with Love and if by some miracle Fano is still available in round 2, nab him. Do you think Love is the right choice? Does the offensive line need more help? Do we go for the best player no matter the position? An exciting time as I see the team finally moving in a positive direction.
Jim: Hey Rick. I haven't hid the fact I like Love, but the GM and scouts know more than I do. I'm not going to come straight out and say he's the right choice, because I know there are no guarantees in the NFL Draft. While I think Love is going to be a stud, maybe Mike Borgonzi & Co. have their sights set on another guy who they think will make a bigger, longer lasting impact. So, we'll have to see what the real decision-makers decide, not the guy who does the mailbag. As for the offensive line, it definitely needs more help. I think Austin Schlotmann could end up being the starter at center, but he's going to have to earn it, and he's going to have competition.
Eric Biederman from Franklin, Tennessee
Question: Hey Jim! Hope all is well. I love Love (pun intended) and I like Bailey a lot too, but I do not think either of these dudes are worth sticking and picking at 4 if we get a good offer to trade down. I see Kansas City and New Orleans as potential trade up candidates, but I'll use Kansas City as an example because they have two first-rounders. I certainly wouldn't be upset if we traded 4 for KC's 9, 29, and 109. We could take a player like Delane or McCoy on defense, maybe even Bailey if he's still there, but I think the ideal selection would be trading down and snagging Jeremiyah Love at 9. We could spend picks 29 and 35 on some combination of corner/receiver/IOL. If we came out of the first two rounds with Jeremiyah Love at 9, then some combination of Colton Hood/Brandon Cisse/Emmanuel Pregnon/Denzel Boston/Omar Cooper Jr. I will personally build a statue of Mike Borgonzi on the Cumberland next to Broadway. Cheers!
Jim: You're thinking outside the box, Eric. I don't think Love will be around at 9, but if he is, and your scenario plays out, it would be splendid. The Titans do need edge rushers, and I suspect that will be addressed at some point early. Heck, it could be at 4.
Dhanush Tummalapalli from Aldie, Virginia
Question: Hi Jim! First time I've ever sent something in, but I enjoy reading every other question. I was just wanting to ask your thoughts about drafting Jeremiah Love. In my opinion, our biggest needs were DL WR RB and CB. We got Wandale, plenty of DLs headlined by JFM, and a bunch of CBs. We addressed 3 positions, and unless we don't tackle the RB problem in free agency, I think Jeremiah Love is the no brainer pick.
Jim: Appreciate you jumping in Dhanush. I'm with you on the needs, as long as you're including edge with the DLs. And while some of these positions of need have been addressed, Borgonzi was quick to point out at the owners meetings the team is not done adding at edge or cornerback. I think that applies to the receiver position, too.
Michael Lott from Bloomington, Minnesota
Question: First time I am writing in from Minnesota. My question is: In your opinion will the Titans draft a running back with the first pick? Or maybe trade down and draft a wide receiver. Thank you for your time
Jim: At this point, I think a lot of things are possible, Michael.
Jay Sheppard from Nashville, Tennessee
Question: I remember when the Titans drafted Derrick Henry when they already had DeMarco Murray. At the time, the pick brought some mixed emotions because Murray had already arrived. This year's draft situation feels similar.
Would it make sense to take Jeremiyah Love when the Titans already have Pollard and Spears? Love has the potential to be a superstar, and he's the kind of player you might regret passing on. He's a difference maker.
What are your thoughts? Does it make sense with current running back room?
Jim: I know Robert Saleh raved about the current running back room. I think Pollard is a solid back who has proven it, I think Tyjae Spears is really talented, but still needs to keep proving it, and I think guys like Michael Carter, Julius Chestnut and Kalel Mullings all have their pluses. But, I've seen backs like Edde George, Chris Johnson and Derrick Henry take things to another level in the run game. If Borgonzi thinks Love is capable of doing the same thing for many years to come, well, I think he'd be a tough guy to pass on.
Jim Blanco from Connecticut
Question: Hi, not a question but a prediction, ANY team (other than the Raiders for obvious reasons) that doesn't draft Jeremiah Love with the first chance they get will regret it for years to come. As an Oiler/Titan fan I hope the Titans are smart enough to see this.
Jim: I'll let the fellas know, Jim.
Wyatt Dorris from Nashville, Tennessee
Question: Is David Bailey the best option for the Titans to select with our first round pick?
Jim: I know some who think so…
Jamie Konitzer from Manitowoc, Wisconson
Question: Hey Jim. We sit at #4 pick & I gotta believe we draft RB Jeremiah Love from Notre Dame or WR Carnell Tate, Ohio State! Any other pick would be a disappointment, yes?
Jim: Jamie is not on the Bailey train… If the Titans do go edge, it'll be because the GM thinks the guy will be a beast.
Caleb Hodge from Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina
Question: Hi Jim. Longtime Titans fan. My question is: Are the Titans going to be getting new uniforms for the 2026 season? If so, will they be released before the draft?
Jim: Hi Caleb. I was going back through my emails from earlier in the offseason, and ran across dozens I couldn't answer at the time. I want to take this time to apologize for that. I had to be tight-lipped leading up to the reveal last month. If I'd spilled the beans in here, I probably wouldn't still be doing the mailbag. I hope you understand. And, I hope you like the new unis…
Kristin Lloyd from Clemson, South Carolina
Question: Hi Jim! What do you think the ceiling is on the 2026 season? Is it unreasonable to think the Titans could compete at the top of the division, given the cap space, draft capital, and the new coaching staff?
Jim: Hi Kristin. I'd be the ultimate homer if I say I think a team that has gone 3-14 in back-to-back years and 9-35 over the last 44 games is suddenly the favorite to win the division. With that said, I like the moves that have been made this offseason, from the roster to the coaching staff. I think things are looking up, and you've seen other teams make a big leap from one year to the next. But this team, and franchise, is going to have to prove it. Like Hank Williams Jr. and Toby Keith, said, it's time for a little less talk and a lot more action.
Have a great weekend everyone!
