NASHVILLE – And we're on to Seattle.

Actually, Seattle is coming to Nashville, for a joint practice on Friday, and then preseason game No. 2 on Sunday at Nissan Stadium.

Let's open up another Titans mailbag while we wait…

Chris Malone from Indianapolis, Indiana
Question: Hey Jim. I hope you are well. Can't imagine how busy you must be. So, I will keep this brief.
Being as honest as you can be without causing yourself a problem. Do you think being "set" at left tackle means we think we are good there the same way we are at left left guard? Or does being "set" there more mean the organization has put a significant investment into that position so they have to roll with it at this point? I hear JC is looking great and playing well. But, I haven't heard that about the left tackle position. It's great to hear that. Carmona seems to be punching above his draft position. Hearing some good news about the line is an awesome thing. Is the organization truly more concerned now about center and right guard like was stated at the beginning of training camp. Or is it really center and left tackle that the coaches are truly worried about? Always appreciate your honest and informative thoughts. Thanks in advance.

Jim: Hey Chris. I think the Titans signed Dan Moore Jr. last offseason because he was the best available tackle at the time, and the team did pay a pretty good price to get him before the market dried up. Remember, some other guys signed before he did. That's just how things went down. But you have to do what you have to do, and now I think the Titans trust that Moore can get the job done. Over time, his play will decide whether the team overpaid for him or not. I like Dan's makeup – he's tough, he plays through injuries, and he works. Can he be better? Yes, but that can be said for a lot of guys not just on the Titans, but across the league. As for JC Latham, he's looked great so far in practices, and now he needs to carry it over to the regular season. The biggest questions on the offensive line, to me, remain what they were at the start of camp, at center and right guard. Austin Schlottmann is holding steady at center, but still with a lot to prove, and a rookie in Fernando Carmona, who is surging at right guard, but again, with a lot to prove. We'll see how all these guys hold up when the regular season starts.

Al Posnack from Spring Hill, Tennessee
Question: Jim I appreciate your comments about the Titans. Tell me if Cam Ward will get consistent on his passing and decision making. He looks a little rusty after his first preseason game. Also what concerns me is the corners on defense. This has been a problem for several years. Your thoughts on these concerns? Thanks Jim!

Jim: Hey Al. Well, that's the hope. I think Cam has had a good few practices this week, but we still have a long way to go for the season. I agree Cam was a little rusty against the 49ers, but I fully expected him to be in his first game in seven months. I need to see more from the secondary before making any definitive statements. These guys barely played a quarter.

Bradd Banks from Smyrna, Tennessee
Question: Hi Jim. I know you're gonna shoot it to me straight. Aside from working with Josh Allen, what does Brian Daboll really makes one think he's a "quarterback whisperer?" I'm seeing Cam do Cam things, just as I saw Levis continue to do Levis things with the previous regime. Of course all the while there's Malik(sp?) as a starter.

Jim: Hey Bradd. Brian Daboll doesn't need me pumping his tires. I think his resume speaks for itself, and he has a great reputation around the league because of it. It's way too early to judge Daboll's influence on any of these guys. Heck, he's just been working with them for a few months. As for Malik, he's a great kid. Let's see how he does as a full-time starter. I wish him well, but his challenge is much bigger now.

Mindy Parr from Clarksville, Tennessee
Question: Going into the new stadium, it seems like the organization is changing literally everything. I can't think of a single thing that next year will be the same as it was in 2021. I am not opposed to change, but I feel like there is nothing to hold on to. Does the organization care at all about long-time fans?

Jim: Hi Mindy. Well, I'm still around, with this mailbag 😊 ... Yes there has been a lot of change, but change is not all bad. I'm actually pumped about the new stadium – it'll be sad to see the current one torn down – and I like the new uniforms and logo. Here's something else that needs to change: The team needs to start winning more games on a consistent basis. If this happens, I have a hunch fans won't worry as much about the other stuff.

Brian Butler from West Orange, Texas
Question: Hi Jim thanks for your hard work and keeping us Titans fans informed, I just have one thing to say is that I noticed Goodrich name mentioned a lot and it seems like he has been pretty good in practice I just want to know your thoughts about him and his chances of making the 53, thanks again and as always Titan up!!

Jim: Hey Brian. Cornerback Mario Goodrich is who you are referring to, and he has made some plays in camp. But I can get to five cornerbacks really quick when adding up guys I think will be on the 53. He has his work cut out for him.

Eric McClellan from Paducah, Kentucky
Question: Quick question Jim. Can you ask the top brass if I can take my seat cushion home with me after the last game of the season?

Jim: Hey Eric. Here's where you can find answers related to memorabilia questions: https://newnissanstadium.com/faq/

Eli Decko from Youngwood, Pennsylvania
Question: I'm in form all year around. I have been doing the same thing since YouTube and NFL Plus came out and that is rewatching the entire season during the off season and taking it all in so I know what I'm talking about when I do talk football. Cam Ward Legit cannot read a defense. He has absolutely no ability to do so. The dude is literally either blind or does not know the plays. He "watches so much film" that is cool, but if he does not have the mental capacity to understand it then it is doing him no good. Maybe they should do like they did with Kyler Murray and take away his video games, that actually helped Kyler. For real though Jim, it is getting painful to keep getting the same thing over and over and over with the Titans. I've been a fan 31 years. They are such a roller coaster. You have some great highs, then let's say...injuries happen and the owner hires a guy who has a grudge against the HC and then they fire him after all he did was win. Like come on. Does anyone else see the travesty that is our team? Funny she didn't let Vrabel spend money and bring in his top choices for coaching staff, and everyone blames him for the bums we had at coordinator, but they don't realize Amy restricted spending. Now all the sudden it is panic mode, they spend spend spend spend, but all on mediocrity! No matter how many Ford Probes you buy it will never be a Mustang. Daboll and Saleh, both Ford Probes. If she would have let Vrabel, a Mustang, bring in Josh McDaniels during the 2 month window he basically begged for it, we would have already won multiple Super Bowls. Yeah I'm Privy to those conversations he had with her prior to Josh going back to NE from Vegas. Like I've said before I know people. Jim it is infuriating that we are just chasing something we could have already had and we are doing it with Pretenders. Robert Saleh was not some genius wiz kid DC in SF. He did not "architect" some amazing scheme or anything. He did exactly what Kyle Shannahan told him to do, FACTS, and coached a very well drafted team. It's like us hiring Borgonzi. Bro was a scout for KC when Andy Reid was brought in and turned that team Around. Andy Reid is the reason the Chiefs are good. Remember he was winning with Alex Smith at QB. The Titans appear unable to identify and execute. They are like " oh he was on a good team, get him''. No that is not how it is done man. John Lynch and Kyle are why SF are successful, and their owners being smart. It was not Ran Carthon the Scout or Saleh the "DC". Daboll as an OC and HC averaged 23rd place for his offenses. Why in God's name do you throw bags at him, but not Super Bowl Winning, architect of , at the time, the highest scoring offense in History, Josh McDaniels? When ur HC is best friends with him and already told her he would come for X dollars? This is wild. Now we gotta chase the Dragon and sit through more trash all cuz Amy is in over her head as an owner and has no clue how or who to hire. Great. Yes, if that is mid season form, then I'll happily be there. 0-17 loading. 2026, the year of everyone finally seeing what I've been saying. Thanks again Jim.

Jim: I'll call this the Book of Eli. It's a depressing one. In all seriousness, your negativity has reached a new level. C'mon Eli, it's August 20 and the team's starters have played a few series in one preseason game.

Pat Spray from Mason, Tennessee
Question: No question. Just tell the Titans to call me. From a boxing standpoint point, getting off the first punch matters. If the d can slip the first attack, they will have cake to eat.

Jim: Everyone has a plan 'till they get punched in the mouth. … I'll pass your wisdom on. Thanks Pat.

Ed Helinski from Auburn, New York
Question: Hey Jim, Greetings from Upstate Finger Lakes Region in New York. My question is pretty simple and straightforward. In your opinion, what's bothersome about this current Titans roster?

Jim: Hi Ed. Depth. I think the roster has gotten better in the past few years, but it's not there yet. Some injuries at key positions will make things a lot tougher.

Have a great rest of the week everyone!
