Joe Levickis from Joelton, Tennessee
Question: Hey Jim!
You already know what I'm going to ask about!
How do you feel the Offensive Line is shaking out as we get into training camp?
To me, it looks like the opening practice snap might look something like Moore, Skoronski, Schlottman, Slater/Volson, and Latham. Is that a pretty good read so far?
Odds we add anyone else? I was hoping we might run it back with Zeitler but it sounds like that might not be on our radar.
Anyone else we should be looking out for? I was a big fan of the Pat Coogan pick as well.
Jim: Hey Joe. Hope you're having a great summer. Sounds like you have a good read on things.
I guess I'm like a lot of folks, curious about how things are going play out.
I have confidence in Moore and Latham, and think they'll both be better in 2026 under new o-line coach Carmen Bricillo. Latham was really challenged with his health last year, and it impacted his play. I think another year's experience and better health should serve him well. Moore has experience, and he's committed. I just have a hunch he'll be better. I have no concerns with Skoronski. But there are questions inside, of course. Like I've said all offseason, I think Schlottman will be the guy at center. At this point, I think Volson is the leader at right guard, but this could change in the competition. Slater is in the mix, and will have a chance to outperform him in camp. The depth inside and the swing tackle spot is up for grabs. Austin Deculus needs to perform better in camp than he did last season, and I'm just not sure about the others in the mix. Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson is in better shape and looks better physically this offseason, but he doesn't have the experience. Inside, I'm interested to see if either of the draft picks (Coogan and Carmona) can make it interesting. I do think the personnel guys are well aware this is an area that could be added to at some point, especially after more guys hit the waiver wire. This is an area that's going to be heavily scrutinized, and we're all going to have to wait to see how things shake out. These joint practices are going to tell us a lot.
Abram Carpenter from Boston, Indiana
Question: Heya Jim. First time writer, long time fan and reader. Only professional game I've been to was week 12 in 2009 when VY beat the Leinart led cardinals. Miss the days of Mister Monday night and old red eyes at De. I started watching the Titans when I was stationed at ft Campbell Tn. Great football culture down there and I miss it. McNair was qb then for 3 years and man it's been a lot of up and down since. My question is what is your thoughts on all the players brought in from the giants? Are they scrappy like cortland finnegan? Or is this just a coaches attachment to former players. This staff doesn't seem like the kind to play games. I'm sincerely hoping that Amy keeps this nucleus of coaches/young players and lets them develop together. As a former infantry team leader I understand the importance of knowing your team members well and absolutely knowing what they will do next. I hope the ownership understands it and gives this group time and opportunity to do so. As Ever Titan Up!!
Jim: Heya Abram. Well, you picked a good one – that was a very memorable game. And I appreciate your service, and commitment. You mentioned how important it is to know team members. I think that's what happened this offseason when the Titans signed so many former Giants, and some of the guys who had been with Saleh or Daboll or even Borgonzi in the past. Knowing what these guys are like on a day-to-day basis is important, because they know they're culture fits, and good locker room guys. And you're right on another thing – letting these guys develop together is important. Hopefully that will happen across the board, from the front office to the coaching staff to the roster. It's hard to win and build consistency when things are changing so much after every season.
Morgan Guttu from Mentor, Ohio
Question: Thanks so much for putting my favorite quarterback that went to the same High School called Mentor High School (in your article). When you get a chance can you please say hi to Mitchell Trubisky and actually his family went to Mentor High School as well. Also tell Mitchell Trubisky that I am working at Mentor Chick-Fil-A alongside my Chick-Fil-A family for 9 years now and am now a Moment Maker and a dining room Host as well and I also love working with my Chick-Fil-A family ❤️.
Jim: Sounds like you're doing great, Morgan! I'll let him know.
Chris LaFromboise from Bottineau, North Dakota
Question: Hello Jim! This may have been asked before but I'm curious on how do practice squad players get paid? Are they on a contract of any kind while on this squad and do they get to travel to away games with the 53 man roster?
Thanks from balmy North Dakota
Jim: Hey Chris. I bet North Dakota feels pretty good right now compared to the extreme heat here. The practice squad players are paid based on experience, and they get paid weekly during the season. Practice squad players with two years of service or less and players with two or more years of service are paid differently. In 2025, players with two years of service or less received $13,000 a week while players with two or more years of service received at least $17,500 minimum weekly salary ($22,000 maximum). The salaries for each group are expected to grow through the 2030 season, with the current Collective Bargaining Agreement. As with the active players, practice squad members are paid 18 weeks per year for the regular season. These guys sometimes travel, but most of the time they don't. It's not a bad gig, with nice pay and valuable experience.
Shawnterious Parker from Nashville, Tennessee
Question: Hey Jim. I'm Shawn from east Nashville life long Tennessee Titans fan since Steve Eddie and Jevon era. I was wondering if there's any way I could get a free Cam Ward jersey when I come to the blue and white game.
Jim: I wish I could make this happen, Shawnterious. Maybe you could ask him nicely when you see him, when no one else is around …
Stephen C. from Hot Springs, Arkansas
Question: Hey Jim, I know this is random, but it's something I've wondered about looking back on the Titans history as they close out the old stadium. Jeff Fisher has been on record saying that if Dyson had gotten that extra yard in Super Bowl XXXIV, he would've kicked the extra point to send it to OT. I always felt that the smarter play would've been to go for 2 and try to win the game there, given that they were playing the "Greatest Show on Turf" and OT was sudden death back then. Just wondering what you would've done in that situation. Thanks.
Jim: Hey Stephen. I think I would have kicked the extra point as well, just because the Titans would have had momentum going into OT. It's a shame we didn't get to see how things might've played out…
Zoe Simone Mathis from Brentwood, Tennessee
Question: Do we think the Titans will win a lot this season?
Jim: Hot take: I think the Titans will win as many games, if not more games, this season than they won the past two seasons combined.
Have a great weekend everyone!
