NASHVILLE – And we're off to Vegas.
The Titans are headed west again, this time to face the Raiders.
The team will be aiming for back-to-back wins for the first time since the 2022 season.
Let's dive back into another mailbag, where at least some fans enjoyed the first win of the season.

Landon Branch from Buckingham, Virginia
Question: Hey Jim. First thing I appreciate all your work. Now that was a crazy win. When is Sweat coming back? Big Jeff needs him. I saw something I haven't seen all season. In those last two drives Cam looked great the o line was very good and the receivers caught the ball! Is this a turnaround? Is this a sign of things to come? Maybe I hope so
Jim: Hey Landon. I appreciate it. T'Vondre went on Injured Reserve on September 20, before the team's game against the Colts. The designation requires him to sit out four games, and Sunday's game vs the Raiders will be his fourth missed game. He's eligible to come off IR, and play, next week against the Patriots – as long as he's healthy. I've seen Sweat around, and he's been traveling with the team. The plan is for him to return to practice next week. So, we could possibly see him back for the October 19th game…. As for Cam, it was certainly an encouraging fourth quarter.
Devin Chester from Bartlett, Tennessee
Question: Hey Jim long time fan from Memphis. My question is during the Arizona game the announcers talked a lot about how Cam Ward needs a security blanket. Could we at some point during the season see Xavier Restrepo activated from the practice squad to help out Cam?
Thank you and Titan Up!
Jim: Hey Devin. It sometimes seems like I get as many questions about Restrepo as I do Cam. Cam has some security blankets already, he just needs to utilize them more. I want to see him throw more balls to Chig Okonkwo and Gunnar Helm, and to some of the team's other receivers. Will we see Restrepo at some point? Maybe. But other guys are ahead of him.
Rachel Fowler from Nashville, Tennessee
Question: Cam Ward, can you please change your cleats on game day from RED they are showing you as a moving target you are standing out too much; and the opposite team can pick you out a mile away. If one wear RED cleats they all need to wear RED cleats.
Jim: You are aware Patrick Mahomes sometimes wears red cleats, too, right? He's done OK with them.
Barrett Sutton from Nashville, Tennessee
Question: Was it my imagination or did the o-line show improvement?
Jim: The o-line has definitely shown improvement, and now JC Latham is set to return to the lineup. By the way, I think this might be the most positive email I've ever received from you, Barrett.
Asa Fitzpatrick from Columbus, Ohio
Question: Hey Jim. My question today is about depth of drop backs. Maybe I'm wrong, but when I watch Mahomes or Allen or some of these other star QBs, it feels like they are dropping way back rather than staying in the pocket on obvious passing situations. As we started to succeed in the fourth quarter of the game on Sunday, I noticed Cam was dropping further back too. Then after the game, I believe it was Callahan who said that we want Cam to throw more easy throws. I understand that as a new rookie QB having easy completions is huge, especially as cam's completion percentage so far has not been good, but at some point when we are down in games, why not let cam just drop way back and sling the rock? The same way we see Patrick or Josh do it. It seems like there's more time for the QB to avoid the pressure that way, and also more time for him to sling the rock. Maybe my question stems from the ignorance of sitting on the couch watching the game, but I've been curious for a while! Let me know your take! Thanks for what you do!
Jim: Hi Asa. What Callahan was referring to centered more on Cam taking what the defense gives him. And not to pass up some open targets in front of him to take shots downfield. It's all a process, and part of the maturation, of a young QB. There will be times when Cam drops back and slings it. But this team is going to run the ball, and mix things up.
Eli Decko from Youngwood, Pennsylvania
Question: If anyone thinks the Titans deserved to win (against the Cardinals) they are out of their mind. The Cardinals plain forgot how to play football in the 4th quarter. Callahan shouldn't even be slightly off the hook for this terrible performance and neither should the Titans offense. 10 targets, 5 catches for Ridley. That's garbage. The interception that was fumbled and recovered was one of the most LUCKY plays in NFL history. The defense looked ok, not good other than Simmons. Sneed needs to learn how to cover still, he is godawful minus 2 plays. The team is still so bad, celebrating a game of luck is not a good thing. Celebrating a game you actually win is. For the first time in 4 seasons I got the Titans record wrong though, I had them 0-17, maybe the times they are a changin' but maybe not. Raiders win 34-10 next week.
Jim: Sounds like your wife needs to give you more hugs, Eli.
Cesar Aguirre from Dallas, Texas
Question: Can we play Arizona again? A pitiful team bailed out by an unlucky team. The NFL gods were definitely on our side.
Let's not trade will levis just yet. I'm sorry but I don't see anything good in cam ward. I thought he was more mobile. I'm not saying he has to run like Lamar Jackson but he has to be able to scramble here and there to keep drives alive. Drafting him number 1 instead of trading it for 2 number 1 picks will be worst than trading aj brown for a first round pick.
This is just like last year by week 4-5 I thought the Callahans were done. So yes this year I think cam ward is done too. I'm sure he will get better but when? Jim see you all in a couple of weeks. I don't know why I spend $1200 for 2 tickets but I'll be up there for the New England game. Let's go Titans!
Jim: Hey Cesar. I'm betting you and Eli would be besties. See ya in Nashville!
Robert Andrews from Levittown, Pennsylvania
Question: Just wanted to share some thoughts
The chiefs are 2-3
> Good QB
> Good HC
Failing everywhere else
Almost like the titans.
IMO change our head coach
Trade some people
Hefty cap space next season plus picks, get a decent HC and we may be contenders. This is Wards first season he's shown flashes but also made rookie mistakes then again he's a rookie.
Handed a win but a win is a win.
We have a top 3 draft pick coming up unless something drastically changes. We need a better HC and I hear McCarthy alot but what about Peterson?
Side note: Baby Titan loves watching the titans. Hes growing up so fast. Almost 3 months already
Jim: They grow up fast, Robert. Thanks for writing in.
Jake Voss from Fort Collins, Colorado
Question: Wednesday afternoons' Britches Report is one of the highlights of my football week leading up to game day! I love seeing what colors the team will be sporting.
This season there's definitely been a strong lack of diversity. Home games we wear blue over white, road games we wear white all.
My questions has two parts:
1) What goes into choosing the uniform combo for each week? Do the players, coaches, management (or you maybe?!?!?!) decide?
2) The rumor mill has been churning thanks to one Warren Moon that an all-new uniform set is on the way for either 2026 or 27. What is your honest opinion of the current uniform set? Seems like the overall opinion isn't terribly high. Given that the team made the switch to light blue as the primary (as opposed to navy) I'm kind of expecting a happy medium between Titans look and Oilers look, if new uniforms are indeed coming. All that said, I do think it's possible Mr. Moon was referring to the Rivalries series uniforms the Titans are getting next year, and not a full new set/rebrand. What can you speak into this? I'd love to know whether I should buy my Cam Ward jersey now once new uniforms have arrived!
Jim: Hey Jake. I appreciate you following along. I've love that fans love the Britches Report.
And, you're right – there hasn't been a lot of variety with the combination this year. But it's been by design.
Back in March, I wrote a story about the team's plan switch to light blue as the primary home jersey this fall, with the white uniforms being the primary road uniforms. And, at the time, I said the plan was to be more consistent with uniform combinations this fall, jerseys and pants (and even socks). As you've seen, that's what has transpired. This was a decision that was made at the top, with ownership. Yes, you could still see some change-ups with the wardrobe this season, but the plan was always to be more consistent.
As for what's ahead in the future regarding uniforms, I can't reveal a whole lot, to be honest. I will say all the buzz generated by Warren back in the spring was blown way out of proportion.
Have a great weekend everyone!
