Tuesday's Training Camp Notebook

Quick Hits from Camp

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The team hit the field early in the morning for special teams practice before their usual afternoon practice.

Today marked the second day the team practiced in shoulder pads.  Tomorrow the team will practice in full pads

Thermometers from WeatherBug.com read 102 degrees at the beginning of practice.  It was so hot that WR Nate Washington felt it necessary to remove his shorts and practice in his tights.

FB Ahmard Hall continued to look impressive in run block drills.

QB Vince Young looked very impressive in 7 on 7 drills, including one perfectly placed deep ball down the right side to Jared Cook.

Recently signed CB Pete Ittersagen stole a pass from the gloves of WR Bobby Sewall.

CB Ryan Mouton picked off a Chris Simms pass intended for Dominique Edison during a two minute drill to end practice.

Javon Ringer displayed some great downhill running and looked quick in his cuts up field.

Off the field Q&A with Marc Mariani

What is your favorite thing about Nashville?

"All of the live music.  I like all types but I love the country music."

How have you spent your offseason?

"Mostly training.   I also spent some time relaxing in the Montana hills and of course time at home in Havre, Montana to make my mom happy."

What's your favorite hobby off the field?

"Video games.  I love old school Nintendo 64 games.  My favorites are the original Mario Kart and NFL Blitz 99."

What are your plans after football?

"I graduated in business so hopefully I will be a 'suit and tie' businessman one day."

Who was a role model for you growing up?

"Brett Favre.  I love the way he played the game and everything about him.  He is still a role model for me to this day."

Who is your favorite musician or pop culture celebrity?

"My favorite band is a band from Montana called the Clintons (website: http://www.clintonsband.com/).  I also like the Zac Brown Band."

Which one of your coaches or teammates would you like to see on Dancing with the Stars?

"I'd like to see Coach Graves.  He says he's still got it but I'd like to see if he still does.  That would be hilarious."

Last movie you saw in theaters?

"Inception.  It was awesome.  It got me thinking too much though."

Jeff Fisher Quotes

(on Albert Haynesworth not passing his conditioning test again)

I saw Mike Golic do it.

(on if the team dealt well with the heat)

Didn't have any issues. I was very proud of them. We talked about it. We're not going to be out long, but we need to work. And they pushed through it fine.

(on the intensity of Tuesday's practice)

We're building. This is practice No. 4, so we're building. We put the shoulder pads on for the first time yesterday and got the work done. So we'll continue building. Tomorrow we'll step it up even more.

(on Ryan Mouton's performance)

I think most of the defense was happy about that play. A two-minute drive at the end of a day like this where it's especially hot can be taxing. But Ryan makes a play, drill's over. But we do need to work on our two-minute (drill). There will be times when we'll start that over. But today, considering the effort they put in and the heat, it was time to shut that drill down.

Daily Trivia Question (answer revealed in tomorrow's notebook)

Which current Titans have been with the team the longest?

Answer to Yesterday's Trivia Question
