NASHVILLE – Hope everyone had a great Easter weekend.
Can you believe we're now just over two weeks from the NFL Draft?
Lots of draft questions keep rolling into the mailbag.
Let's open another batch and check them out…

JB Jones from Houston, Texas
Question: Jim. Thanks for your dedication to coverage of the Titans through the years. I hope you know how much you're appreciated by fans everywhere. I know you're probably sick of questions about uniforms and Jeremiyah Love, so I'll take it in a different direction:
The phrase "in the building" is used a lot in the NFL, but what exactly does that mean at this time of year? I know OTAs are coming up, but are players just freely able to access the building to work out/rehab/study film, etc? Are there any restrictions on what they can or can't do before OTAs start? Just curious...
Also, what young Titan (or Titans) do you see having a breakout year under this new staff? Two guys I'm hopeful for are Elic Ayomanor on offense and Marcus Harris on defense. I'm interested to hear your thoughts. Thanks!
Jim: Appreciate it, JB. It's cool to see these questions arrive from all over the United States, and the world. Players are back in the building today, and what that means right now is the start of the offseason program is now under way. Players can begin working out together, and getting conditioning work on the field. In the coming weeks and months some restrictions are lifted, and coaches will be allowed to join them. OTAs and minicamps are on the horizon. … As for guys who could make the jump, I usually look to the second-year guys myself, because they are the ones with the most dramatic offseason change. This time last year they were preparing for the draft, after working on more combine-specific, Pro Day drills. After a year under their belts in the NFL, they get an entire offseason to train for the upcoming season with their teammates. Ayomanor and Harris are two good picks. I think Femi Oladejo, Kevin Winston and Gunnar Helm are potential big-jump candidates as well.
Rick Davidson from Lone Oak, Kentucky
Question: Everyone seems to be focused on our first-round pick, which is normal. However, teams are built in the later rounds. How do you see the Titans moving in the later rounds, offense, defense, or best available?
Jim: Hey Rick. I think, for the most part, best available is the way the team will go. The Titans still have plenty of needs on each side of the football, and the best way to get better is to get the best guys, no matter the position. Of course needs are important, and the team won't waste picks if they're good at certain position. For example, the Titans won't take a QB if he's best available at the time. But the GM has said they'll go "best available" and I think that means throughout the draft.
Jayden Howard from Franklin, Tennessee
Question: Hey Jim, can you show us the new practice jerseys?
Jim: Hey Jayden. Players are on the field for the first time this morning. Keep an eye on the team's social channels …
Jeremy Kain from Plattsburgh, New York
Question: Jim. Prior to the release of the new uniforms I was really loving the new trend of many mock drafts: Titans pick Jeremiyah Love. After a truly solid start to the free agency period, the uniform unveiling really seemed to sidetrack some positive energy after months of waiting to see what our crew would do with our new coaching staff and some money available to spend. The takes on the uniform change still pepper your mailbag. I really wish the front office could have timed this release separate from the opening of free agency. Our fans deserved some separate time to enjoy a group of great pickups and even the helpful renegotiation and retainment of Ridley… However, I can't help but recognize a possible historic familiarity in the making. A long time ago, I migrated away from who some family members and childhood friends followed in the NFL. I made my own path when two standout college players, I greatly enjoyed watching, found themselves on a team on the move. My love for this team was firmly founded in 96 when the speedy and powerful Eddie George joined second year athletic passer Steve McNair. These two great players helped forge an outstanding run of successful years together in a metamorphosis of stadiums, uniforms and logos, while being led by the relatively new tenure of a defensive minded head coach…. It's deja vu if Jeremiyah Love, the polished and young stud RB from a collegiate powerhouse program, joins forces with the overachieving dynamic small school climbing QB Cam Ward. This pick would be the perfect launch to a new exciting era of football for a team that will no doubt reward the faithful and draw in tens of thousands of new fans for years to come... Love will sell more jerseys, and put more fans in the seats, than any other selection at #4 in the 2026 Draft. Let's do it!
Jim: I hear ya, Jeremy. And, I've noticed a lot of fans are thinking along the same lines as you are…
Steve Shane from Thompson's Station, Tennessee
Question: Hi, Jim! I have another reason why the Titans should draft Love at #4, which I've yet to see discussed anywhere: If a great RB gets about 25 carries per game (I know Henry often got over 30), and also catches a few passes, then he is directly involved in MANY more plays than any other player on the field except the QB. So why even consider a safety or corner who might be involved less than 10 plays? (and if it could be even fewer if opponents avoid throwing in their direction.) So I say take Love... even if we have to trade up to #2 to guarantee another team doesn't trade up to #2 or #3 to grab him from us! Thanks for your great columns!
Jim: Add Steve Shane to the list of fans wanting Love. I'm not sure I can see a scenario where the team trades up to get Love, because this team needs draft capital. Not doing so, of course, means someone could snag Love before the Titans would even have a chance. I know that's a scary thought for some fans…
Nathan Smith from McMinnville, Tennessee
Question: I don't understand how some analysts claim that Titans shouldn't take Love at 4, but it's ok if NY takes him at 5 or any of the other Top 10 picks. If he isn't worth the value at 4 how does one more spot suddenly make it a "Great" pick? In my opinion, it's the teams picking 5-10 that are spinning this nonsense about "value". I understand looking for value in other things that I purchase everyday, but I also remember my Daddy teaching me " You get what you paid for". If he truly is one of the Top 2 players in the draft, we need more of THOSE players despite the position value. Let the big market teams media be jealous that we have another superstar in our small market to go along with Simmons. My question is…could Love's representatives be doing the spinning to keep him away from Nashville? Wanting him in the Big Apple?
Jim: I've seen a lot of speculation on this topic myself, Nathan. … I don't think his agents are trying to keep him out of Nashville, though.
Joel Meadows from Oakland, Tennessee
Question: I remember in the 2024 Draft several analysts thought the Titans would pick Joe Alt, but the Chargers got him. The Titans ended up getting J.C. Latham instead. Several analysts this year are predicting the Titans to pick Jeremiyah Love. However, there are 3 teams ahead of Tennessee. The Raiders will probably take Fernando Mendoza, but that still leaves the Jets and Cardinals to pick before the Titans. I wanted Alt 2 years ago, and it didn't happen. I want Love to be in Nashville this year, but afraid the Jets or Cardinals will pick him first.
Also, either way, hoping the team keeps Tony Pollard.
Jim: This is the scenario Steve is afraid of…
Bentley Wharton from Gallatin, Tennessee
Question: So, you think the Titans should draft some elite wide receivers?
Jim: The more talented receivers the better…
Jimmy the Greek Dimitrios Kosmas from Calgary, Alberta Canada
Question: Howdy Jimbo. You're a funny man, Mr. Wyatt.
If the other fan didn't want to know who were going to draft and sign in free agency...
Is the information available for me??
How about these questions?
Unless you want to answer the first two 😏
Question 3, 4, and 5
Have you ever met Tyrod Taylor?
Have you seen him play live?
Do you believe in " The Tyrod Taylor Theory"?
Thanks for always keeping us Titan-ed Up!!
I do appreciate you putting up with my antics.
You're a fricken sphinx with inside information.
But I also respect you for it.
Following your column is a double edged sword for my emotions, jk haha
Jimmy the Canadian Greek
Jim: Hey Jimmy.
I am not aware of the Tyrod Taylor theory.
I have not met him, but I have seen in play live.
Eli Patnesky from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Question: Hey Jim, Eli here again. I'm heading to the Draft in person this year! Since I'll be right there when the Titans are on the clock at #4, who is the one player you think would make the loudest statement for this new era? Also, any tips for a Titans fan traveling into enemy territory for the draft. Have a good week and Titan Up!!!
Jim: I've said in here before I'm a big fan of Jeremiyah Love myself, but I know there are some other intriguing guys in this draft class, including some edge rushers. This is obviously a huge decision by the GM, who doesn't want to be picking this early in the draft again. … As for draft advice, you'll see fans from everywhere at the draft in Pittsburgh. It's a fun event, and very welcoming. I'll look for fans in Titans blue.
Richard Robles from Springfield, Tennessee
Question: Hi, Jim. We are still keeping the pick. I believe the Tennessee Titans will draft either Notre Dame RB Jeremiyah Love or Arkansas RB Mike Washington Jr. and I also think we also think that at 2nd Round Draft Pick, There might be a huge 2nd Round Draft Pick top player being drafted in 2nd round. That's the only NFL Draft Prediction
Jim: Appreciate this prediction, Richard.
Have a great week everyone!
